Sorry, i'm not debating a made up fact. You can't remember if its a quote, article, tweet......... your just pulling sh#t out of your a $$.
I think the drama queen you're talking to is referencing information in this thread. She/He usually gets things mixed up and doesn't know how to reference back to material she/he usually gets jumbled up, will become defensive when you call him/her on it, and then will probably ignore you. Best thing is to avoid conversation with that idiot.

A more correct title would read “Cowboys passing offense ranked 32nd”

Not really. The stat accounts for 1st downs obtained by the QB running, as well as by passing.

But I agree his passing conversion rate on 3rd down is on the entire offense, not just him.

People are going use whatever they need to try and prove a point. Where does the oline rank in protection in this situation?
We've also probably had the longest avg. 3rd downs in the league. I can't count how many times we've had 3rd down & 12+.

As is the the deflection when the answer to your question is not what you want to hear.

When Dak wins a super bowl passing for under 200 yards or heck, even a division title, come talk to me.

I don't remember asking you any questions. But nice work on the 2 exceptions. My bad going back 30 years b/c you can't compare different eras of passing stats. However, I do think its fair to say that anything under 200 yards in this pass happy era is pretty putrid and the teams mediocre record since 2016 is all the evidence I care about.

When the goal of every DC is to force the game into the QB’s hands, this is not surprising. 3rd downs are only part of the problem. A lack of creativity on 1st down is a bigger problem. The play call options for 3rd and 4+ yards are limited because the OL is a bigger problem than the QB.

These comparisons to Aikman and Brady are just mind numbing.

Tom Brady
259 games, 68,359 yards, average of 261.9, wow not even the 300 yard mark
Rodgers also average of 261

Joe Montana
192 games, 40,551 yards, holy crap that is an average of 211.2 yards per game...wow...
Troy Aikman
165 games, 32,942 yards, wait, wait for it.....that is a 3 times SB champion average of wait...199.65 yards per game....

No sir.

We've had 3rd and 10+ 27 times(22 attempts, 4 sacks, 1 rush). Of those 27 we have been sacked 4 times. Unless I'm messing something up.

The only quibble I have is hat I think the 4 sacks need to be included in the 22 attempts. Sacks count as lost passing yardage. It would be odd if they weren’t also reflected as attempts.

Really good work pulling together the data. It shows clearly that the vast majority of Dak’s 3rd down opportunities haven’t been from what is traditionally considered ‘manageable’ distance (7 yards or less to go).

A comparison is done all the time. That is why they all are included in all the stats.
What do you want, as to your narrative. We can only compare stats to the last 5 years, 10 years, where do you cut it off.?

Can't make a point with cherry picked arbitrary cut off points.

Which is why i'm referring back to my original quote about one stat not mattering as much as the whole picture. Clearly, Dak is not in league with those guys. But nice to see you finally bothered looking something up.

Comparisons are made but not on sheer passing yards unless 2 QB;s played in the same era. Winning is the only measure that cuts across eras. Otherwise, we would have clueless folks like you making claims like Romo is better than Roger Staubach. Or Dak is on par with Brady so far. ...... Dak doesn't measure up to the great Qbs of this or any other era.

Hawkeye check this out

Does this OneCoolCustomer guy understand the difference between first, second, and third down?

Brees' numbers are off (only one I've checked so far).

48 pass attempts, 7 sacks, 5 rushes. And 24 first downs. That's 40%. Actually, I forgot to add the TDs, so that's a total of 27 FD/TD or 45%.

Dak has 56 pass attempts, 11 sacks, 8 rushes. And 21 FD/TD. That's 28%. Still bad, and still off from the provided stats. And nowhere close to Brees.
