What do you mean by “if someone offered” and “another dude”? What’s really the situation,or you wouldn’t be asking about it.

Do you trust her? Does she trust him? Is this going to affect our meeting up at Hooters?

I want to send my wife to get a spa treatment. I don't want to go with her because I am not into all that mani pedi facial stuff. Plus after there will be shopping. And I'm really not into that. So I told her to take a friend. And I would pay for the friend if they couldn't afford it. That friend's fiance was like oh hell no I'm not letting some other dude pay for you. But he refuses to give her money to go.

It's strange that he said no. Does the fiance know you, or do you just know your wife's friend? If he doesn't know you, I get it. If he does know you, it's either a pride thing or suspicion thing. Turn it around and tell your wife to make it a "Christmas present." I doubt the dude would object then.

Deep down inside I don't fully trust her. That's why I want her to go with a friend not just by herself

That's something you two will have to work on for a while. Given the circumstances, that'll take time. I'm sure you'll get there, buddy! You're a good guy.

Yeah I know my wife's friend very well we grew up together. The fiance I've known him for 3 years now. I was pretty surprised when he refused to Let Her Go

I don't understand why the "paying for the friend" had/has to be announced as coming from you.

You should have just told your wife that you would pay for her to go and if her friend couldn't pay for it, then you could give your wife the money so SHE could pay for her friend to go with her.

No reason at all for you to be even be in the discussion beyond your wife.

Unfortunately I'm the only income in the family. Knowing that the fiance knows who will be paying for the spa.

Oh I see now. I had it the other way around based on how you put it. Nah...there’s no problem then. But you don’t need to say anything, make it as if your wife is paying for both. Like she got a gift or something.

Okay, we were all under the impression that some random dude was going to treat your wife to a spa treatment.

Under the circumstances you just explained, her old man is either cheap or just a dick.

Wasn't she "with friends" the last time she got in trouble? Wasn't it because of them?

Reading back I understand now why I gave that kind of impression.
She is no longer with those kind of friends. That was one of the requirements I had for her if I was going to stay with her. All her current friends now have either husband's fiance's or kids.

I think I had innocent intentions

Well so you offered to pay for your wife’s friend? He’s saying no? That’s just odd. I took your question as it was just one girl and some guy was paying for it. There is nothing but innocent intentions on your part with the friend, you didn’t tell her to to take, so hubby is just being a controlling POS.

Word of advice (divorced married 8 years) if you don’t trust her get rid of her brother life is too short to worry about someone stepping out on you.

But you trust her with her friend? Maybe I am missing something but aren't those spas all manned by women? Ya like that? Manned by women, I kill me.

It's not like she's taking her friend to see the Chippendales. And remind me to share my story about that sometime.

Sounds like you don't fully trust your lady and your lady's friend's fiancée doesn't trust her either. Can I get the address of this place and the appointment times? I hope it's on the weekend as this is crossdressing weekend and I am going to be Olga Strubing, Swedish masseuse and Kama Sutra consultant.

The lack of trust came from a previous situation that ended up breaking the trust I had for her. At this point I'm working on getting that trust back.
