McClay had Wentz graded as a top 10 pick and his # 1 overall QB. McClay had Dak ranked as a 4th rounder. Looks like he was right. It must hurt him to see Wentz in an Eagles uniform.

Wait.

Didn’t Ken and Irvin88 claim we had Dak rated as a 2nd rounder supposedly?

Looking for to the spin job on this one.

"Oh what? Do you think you know more than the guys running this team?!"

Yes. I do.

Wentz would be looking like trash here, especially since we wouldn't have Zeke. What would really change? We'd have Rod Smith running right into the defense on 1st down instead?

A small trade up? People forget how much Philly had to trade to get that #2 pick, it took 2 1sts a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks. In hindsight, it's always easier to say it would have been worth it or not.

Wrong, Eagles gave up Sam Bradford, Kiko Alonso, their 1st and two mid round picks.

That's wrong. The Bradford and Kiko trades were separate trades done at different times with the Vikings and Dolphins, not with Cleveland.

The Eagles sent five draft picks to the Browns: the No. 8 pick in the first round, a third-round pick (77th overall) and a fourth-round pick (100th overall) in this year's draft, a first-round pick in 2017 and a second-round pick in 2018. Cleveland also sends a fourth-round pick in 2017 to the Eagles.

Wentz should have been a Cowboy. It would have taken a small trade up and the QB position would have been solved for the next 10+ years.

you thought that after Dak went 13-3 in his rookie year??? or are you saying that 3 years after they had to make the pick?

Wentz wouldn’t look that good in Dallas. If you think he’d be an mvp candidate in year two with Garrett :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Wentz wouldn’t know the offense like Romo did by year 2 to audible Garret’s trash.

So wonder the browns are in better shape than us.

My point was that moving up did not cost them a ransom like you implied. 2 of those picks were from traded players they were moving from. Eagles front office is light years ahead than Dallas.

They weren't moving up from #4 overall though. It would have taken our next years 1st the way the draft points worked out (steep price for 2 spots but thought it was worth it to have Romo's heir in place and to avoid the possibility of drafting a RB top 5). Some fans were screaming for them to do it bf the PHI trade was made.

After that it was Bosa, Ramsey, Zeke, but bf that point the FO should've moved up those 2 spots. Our coaching staff had an up close look during the senior bowl week but passed on that option still looking for Romo to be here long term or get 2 for 1 by moving up for Lynch (glad that didn't work out).

Yep
Ask yourself, would you trade Zeke and Taco for Wentz?
Anyone but the usual blind homers would say , yes

The saddest thing is that there are still cowboy fans who continue to defend Jerry and Garrett and actually think the know football

Exactly. The Eagles knew what it would take and went all in, while the Cowboys had their doubts and didn't think it was worth the risk.

The eagles won the superbowl with Wentz on the bench. If Dak went down, the cowboys wouldn't win a single game. Sending a minimum of two first rounders and a second would have devastated this team. The only time we've had real success is when the O line is completely healthy and we have a runningback rushing for nearly 2000 yards. If Wentz was here, we'd still be stringing together 8 and 8 esque seasons because we wouldn't have Zeke+. We've already seen Wentz under Garrett and that was when he lost to Dak in the senior bowl. Seriously, I'd love to know how Wentz would be successful here. Rush the ball with Rod Smith on 1st down. Tell the receivers to run straight down the field on second down in an obvious pass. Get coached up by Kellen Moore.

Wentz is also a big hit magnet. With Chaz Green out there, if he had his own ATL game, he'd be sitting on the bench due to injury. Wentz would make for more entertaining football ala a Romo but he isn't taking us to the promised land here. Mark Sanchez went to the NFC championship game and beat the Manning led Colts and the patriots with the jets. Couldn't win a single game here. Cassell went 11 and 5 in new england. Couldn't win a game as a starter here.
