Played better but still far from good.
Mussed guys wide open because if his happy feet, inability to see the field and took 3 unnecessary sacks.
A long long way to go but better than previous weeks

I told everybody Wentz wouldn't be the same after his ACL/MCL/tore-everything-in-his-gorram-knee injury but all the Wentz fanboys kept spouting their utter stupidity.

Wentz looked like nothing special today. In fact he's looked nothing special all year. And that's with a better overall team than the Cowboys (as the Eagles displayed last year by winning the SB with him on the bench. If that isn't a big "we don't need you" I don't know what is.)
if Wentz doesn't look special Sunday or all year what must you think Dak looks like?????

Wowsers.. We got the win.. celebrate but wow. Why are so many acting like this win was on Dak?!!! We smashed philly with our run game.. Zeke was a monster and that meant that we were able to keep the chains moving and allow Dak to make his little 5 yard pitches out to WRs.

Dak had zero deep plays.. zero 'big plays'... making a 10 yarder is not a big play.. you only think it is because we are so used to bad QB play.

Wentz is the far far far far better QB, but we got the win because our D was better, our RB was a stud and overall their injuries were too much in the secondary.
As Zeke runs is how well the team plays, Dak was serviceable, as many say on this board have said with out Zeke Dak isn't very good. Watching the game it's pretty obvious the great gap of talent between Dak and Wentz.

Dan Marino would almost do 2x Dak's yardage. Thats something to write home about.
Ya well Dak isn’t Dan Marino newsflash but we can and will win with him

Oh and out of curiosity how many SB trophies did Marino hold up?

On the road. Lesser supporting cast. Conservative gameplan. Went in and beat him, right in the middle of the ring so to speak.

All the tweets, and the smack from our fan base and theirs. The talking heads "Oh I would take Wentz over Dak".

He went in and beat him. There's so much to like with Prescott. Would have hung 350 on them if we just take the training wheels off in the second half and let the guy sling it; which we never do. He always has a huge first half then we go conservative.

That said - he outplayed Wentz. Still take our guy.

Not sure how you figure Wentz has a better supporting cast. The Eagles have no running game. Rod Smith could start for them. Dak played a decent game but still consistently missed open wrs. Cooper was open all night down the sideline and Dak couldn't make the throw. If you think what you saw last night proves Dak is in the same category of QB as Wentz, then you have no idea what you were looking at. We won last night in large part due to a Herculean effort by Zeke, great OL play, and great defense. Game balls to LVE and ZEKE.

They should run more WR screens
They need to get a coach or OC that's not afraid to innovate or use college concepts that play to Dak's strength. Michael Gallup excelled in running bubble screens in college. No surprise he looked good doing it in last night's game.

Wentz is the far superior thrower of the football. Anybody who says otherwise needs their head examined. Dak made a ton of mistakes, got lucky on the eagles being dumb and calling timeouts and Gallup making a big play. Captain checkdown with no situational awareness was too busy taking inexcusbale sacks to outplay anybody. I think Dak carries a four leaf clover. Those fumbles seem to bounce right back to him.

Zeke’s great game was the difference.

The title of this thread should be “Zeke outplayed the Eagles”
Or perhaps “Doug Pederson outcoached himself by calling timeouts”.

Zero big plays... what about the lasers to win the game? That 20 yard out to Beasley? You lose so much credibility. Our fan base has mouth breathers I swear to god
On a side note, I always think it shows the weakness of an argument when someone has to resort to personal insults and antagonistic remarks instead of stating their case with reason.

However that aside, yes Dak made 2 'big' throws an 11 yarder and the 17 yarder to Cole that you are probably referencing. Yes our QB, after our RB had gashed a defence for about 130 yards and close to 200 yards from scrimmage, completed a 17 yard pass on a slant route to our leading slot receiver. It required the slot receiver to make a terrific catch above his head with close coverage. It was an EXCELLENT play.

My point is that if you follow a team with a great QB, you do not get in a lather about one 17 yard completion.. seriously you just don't. If you argument is that Dak played great because he completed a 17 yard pass then you need to really evaluate that. SO pay attention.. it was a GREAT play.. it was a GREAT pass but that doesn't change the fact that Dak is not good enough to QB this team to sustained success.

After your RB moves the ball at will, and their defence has got 9 guys within 3 yards of the LOS (which they did at that stage - look at the tape).. then your QB better be able to make some passes..

I agree he absolutely isnt Dan Marino and nowhere close to him.

I can see you getting all giddy because of this win that was nice but this team has a lot of work and rebuilding to do to get to the greatness it once was.

Dan Marino was the best QB that never won a SB but got to the playoffs more than Dak can ever dream of. Dan Marino's passing stats blows Dak out of the water.

Now go back to clapping.

Dak led the game-winning drive. Carson threw short of the sticks on 4th down of the ensuing drive.

Dak won, Carson lost. In Carson’s house.

Scratch that... Dak has never lost in Philly. It’s Dak’s house.

Wentz looked bad the 1st half and picked up his play as the game went on. Dak was decent and consistent. In the end Dak did outplay him.

Amari Cooper is a legitimate #1. I hope this knucklehead coaching staff “coaches” Dak into not forcing the ball to Cooper all the time. The other WRs can get open on occasion.

I'll say this, I think that Dak is more clutch than Wentz. Dak rises up in some games where it's either tied in the 4th or the other team is ahead in the 4th. And he leads them back or gives them great chances to win. He actually give the Boys a chance to go into OT against the Skins, but the FG was missed.

I'm not aware of Wentz having the same ability. In two games this season, against the Panthers and Cowboys. He made throws that put his team in the spot to lose. Last night throwing in the middle with 11 seconds and no timeouts was a poor decision.

I agree that our defense is legit.. still prone to collapsing (see last week) and I hate our 'prevent' look.. but they are flying around and looking to make plays. You can see it building and still room for growth.

Which is what makes the struggles at QB harder to take. We have soooo many pieces but won't go far until we have a QB that can actually break open a game with passing.

Still think we probably need another CB (who doesn't) and some help with safety.. but it is getting there.
I wonder how Jourdan Lewis would look. ON DEFENSE.

Wentz has won some clutch games, but I do think it is a weakness and you are spot on.. his decision on that last play was incorrect. Having said that.. they were in a hail mary situation really.. and potentially he felt that someone would have to make a play.

I think the bigger issue was their defence giving up 27 points against our offence (which has been lousy) and should have been more if not for missed FG etc. So the Eagles defense played poorly.. I mean Zeke was beyond good and the OL was dominant (Martin was superhuman) but their D gave up lots of yards and long drives. They couldn't get us off the field in the last.

Don't forget that nice throw to Hurns that set up a TD. Dak has shown he can get it done. He needs better guidance. People forget who is coaching him. That would be nobody.
