If these people "flip" because there happens to be a TV on with some football, their opinions and feelings are not worth concerning yourself over. Enjoy the game.

If you really want to be the better man, watch it on your phone (Fox Sports Go App?).

I don’t know if this is the right place for this, but I need advice. My wife and daughters are planning a family dinner at my stepdaughters house—probably 18-20 people. My brother and I have a long standing tradition of watching the Boys on Turkey Day. Here’s the problem: all the relatives hate football! We’re scheduled to eat at 3. The game comes on at 4. If we try to watch it there, everyone will flip, and I’m the jerk for letting “stupid football” ruin everyone’s holiday. If we eat quick then go home to watch, I’m a jerk for leaving a family celebration they worked so hard on for “stupid football”! Either way, I lose! Advice?
Watch it! If they don't like it change families. I went through the same thing 27 years ago. If your wife has your back, you'll be fine, if she doesn't......kiss her butt or change families. BTW, my wife had my back, I have never missed a game and she's watched every o e of them with me. Early game, Thanksgiving dinner, late game, lunch. Not that difficult. Good luck.

No self respecting fan would watch a recorded game, unless you are rewatching to come to the Zone and criticize Garrett or Dak! Watch it live or go kiss their butts! You'll have to do it the rest of your life or until you get divorced! Bunch of pansies!!!! Drop the right nut and watch the game! Lol,salud!!

No offense dude, but I got to tell you...they sound like overly anal jerks. If I was you? I’d tell em where to go stick that turkey leg. No kidding....it’s as American and traditional to have football on Thanksgiving as turkey itself. You can tell them I said you’ll be in the lounge room with your good buddy enjoying the festivities, and if they care to lighten up on the Martha Stewart presentation they are more than welcome to join you both. Signed, sincerely Christopher Pierce. Happy Holidays.

Tell them you joined a football pot with a winner every quarter. Tell them if you win, they win too ;)

It might cost you if you have matching numbers tho :muttley:

Sounds like someone else's problem to me... I have Directv and just watch it on my phone if it's an issue, but usually it isn't. Those who don't like it simply leave the room. Which they have every right tho do. I won't stop em.

I just spent 4 hours in the car with my Dad and Uncle ... I have no problem spending time with my Dad, but sorry my Uncle(Dads Brother) is like spending 4 the in the car from someone from the 20's. I keep my distance from most family. I'm am a free spirit do whatever the heck you want, ingest whatever you want in your body...the 1st half hour was how Cannabis is going to ruin Canada, so to think I wanna go spend any amount of time listening to that crap...that why I would choose football...to think of going to a meal and watch football with all that nonsense.

I honestly do not remember the last time I missed a Cowboys game. Before I make plans, I always make sure it doesn't interfere with my plans. The Cowboys have been in my life, almost as long as a family...

My last job, for 23 years I called in sick on Turkey Day, MNF, TNF if the Cowboys were on...lol
