Worst GM in sports history.

I like Dak. I would absolutely trade him for two first rounders. Then I would wonder how Jerry Jones is also the GM of the other team.

Can we get three to make up for the one we gave for Cooper? Just saying, we're drafting backwards here

It's why Dallas hasn't sniffed a NFC title game for 23 years and as this culture continues, the drought will continue.

What the heck is suppose to say? Jerry has to support the players and coaches in the Public eye. Think about Dez. There was a lot of talk behind the scenes about Dez and the entire Cowboys nation thought he would be back. Then he was released. Boom! Just like that. Gone. Which GM offered two picks?

I am sure if anything is brewing behind the scenes none of us internet gurus would know.

Jerry snagged Cooper and the team started winning. Don't discount what this team will do behind Dak.
The best support Jerry Jones could give his team- his players and coaches is to just shut up. Stop being “the face of the franchise” year after frustrating year. Less visible, less vocal Jerry is better for this team. History shows that.

Remember right before the 2014 season when “Stripper Gate” happened? Jerry suddenly was not available to the press for several weeks. This stayed true for almost half that season. After an opening game loss to SF, the team went on a 6 game winning streak. A quiet Jerry is better for this team. That’s pretty much Football 101 for every other NFL GM in this league.

Wentz??? What's with the lovefest from so many for that knee-torn dunce? I would rather take Goff.

Meant to add Goff as well tbh. Wentz is very talented. Despite who he plays for I can acknowledge that AC.

Honestly, though, can you imagine how dumb the Jets would have looked giving Mark Sanchez a ridiculously large deal for that time period because his running game (the other L.T.) and defense ("can't wait!" Bart Scott) propelled them to two AFC Championship Games? Hopefully, Prescott develops into a better QB than what I see right now because if not, you don't pay bus drivers the money you pay Formula 1 and NASCAR drivers.

I know Jerry is just trying to keep the kid's confidence up and show support, but he's just making it too obvious now. Or, maybe he thinks he's actually driving the price up? Negotiation is not his strong suit.

This is just silly. This is what he's supposed to say, even if he wanted to trade the guy.

No, it's not.

The best thing to do for a QB who is playing at a mediocre level is show them their job isn't safe - saying he will be resigned and he won't be traded does nothing to breed competition.

This is a lame response from an old man who so far removed from what the NFL is today. He's still trying to get by with star players at devalued positions.

Jerry Jones: I wouldn't trade Dak Prescott for two 1st-rd picks

If you thought Jerry Jonescouldn't double-down any harder on Dak Prescott, you'd be wrong.

The Hall of Fame owner of the Dallas Cowboys is beyond enamored with his third-year quarterback, despite struggles with consistent accuracy and the like. The team itself hasn't done a great job at putting Prescott in a position to succeed, with many questioning the play-calling and decision to make Kellen Moore his QB coach only one season after Moore lost the backup job to an undrafted Cooper Rush, but Prescott isn't absolved from his part in the Cowboys' offensive struggles. With the addition of wide receiver Amari Cooper and a willingness to fully unleash running back Ezekiel Elliott, however, things appear to be at the corner -- readying to potentially turn it.

Jones made it unequivocally clear he's going to extend Prescott in the near future, but he has now also slammed the door shut on anyone thinking a team could ultimately pry the two apart via trade -- even if the offer was a blockbuster one.

When a guy has said so many stupid things for so long, why does anyone take him seriously? Why does every stupid thing he says have to be posted? The clown talks more than all of the owners, GM's and HC's combined. That's why he is the GM.

But not unexpected, that's his MO. Same as he is with Garrett. He wants everybody to be happy because unlike other GM's, he hangs around his players too much and wants to be liked. That's why he thinks he can take the liberty of questioning a player's injury status as he did with Barber and Ratliff.

The military has a very strong policy for officers fraternizing with the enlisted personnel for a very good reason and most of the NFL follows those same guidelines. I can tell you from 40 years of management experience, not keeping that objectivity and separation is nothing but trouble.

Always amazes me when supervisors are buddies with employees, just makes for trouble in the workplace.

First of all, no GM would be stupid enough to make that offer. He would be fired before the deal was complete.

So it's easy for Jerry to make these stupid claims because he knows he will never face that situation. But if this fantasy were to happen, I think he would make the deal, despite his blubbering on a radio show.
