I’m not going to argue the whole thread, but dak 100% has issues throwing to receivers who are covered. That is not an opinion but a fact, and part of the reason why him and dez would never work. Dak is not throwing the ball to a contested wr unless he absolutely has no choice.
All QB's have issues throwing to receivers who are covered.

I swear, where do you guys get your information from?

I m good at imagine how others think or feel. I profiled Cooper. He's clearly an introvert, but he's confident in his ability. He believes he's great. He won't be able to show it with Dak. I can see it. I KNOW he sees it. Dak kept throwing to Gallup in tight coverage. if you're going to throw to anyone in tight coverage, throw to Cooper. Did you see Cooper after his last catch saying feed m?

My profile of Dak is, he wants to be recognized as a guy that does it with any receiver. That's why they cut dez. That desire won't allow him to keep feeding Cooper the way Ben does AB or Ryan Does Julio. If he does, Cooper will get recognized. People will say he's doing it in spite of Dak. I think that's why he went to Gallup so much today. He was nt open the entire game, but Dak kept throw it to him.

I think you should take a few more psychology courses.

Dak has a stronger preference than the average qb for his receivers to be more open. This is well known at this point.

Every quarterback does, it makes no sense to take more chances than you need to, if there's an open receiver and you don't have to throw to the covered guy, because you need a td or first down, e.g. then you throw to the lesser or uncovered receiver.

If Dak prefers to make safer throws, that may just be the way he wants to play, interceptions are drive and game killers, personally I'm glad he attempts to minimize those. Romo threw to covered guys a lot, and how many playoff games did he win?

Not to the exstent dak does.
Ah, a change in parameters!!!!

I think there's something to that, but it's highly exaggerated on these boards. Remember the TD pass Beas uncharacteristically dropped? He was covered, and Dak threw it through a tiny window.

On these boards, a few posters have everyone believing that Dak can't throw to WR's who are covered at all, and it's simply not true.

I saw his frustration today. He knows our offense won't give him 10 targets every week, plus Dak isn't accurate and of top of that, he's a coward. He won't throw it unless you have 10 yards of operation, (unless YOu're Gallup apparently).
Why would any elite receiver choose to play with Dak? I've seen Cooper open on at least 3 deep balls since coming to the cowboys and he was over thrown on every one. He was open a few times on slants and dak didn't have the confidence to throw it. Dam I miss aikman. He was the most accurate passer ever.
You can't miss on deep tds. They don't happen that often in a game and you have to take advantage. Dak can't.
The dude is not a diva.

If he is our #1 and we offer him #1 money, he isn't going anywhere.

I have to agree. Dak n this offense will ruin a WRs numbers and $. For Cooper's sake make Stephen present a QB that can throw to a WR1 instead of having AC for a decoy.

Right now, Cooper would commit career suicide staying.
I disagree. Look who is writing the checks. Jerry is unlike any other NFL owner/GM. Regardless of what his stats look like, if Jerry thinks Cooper is worth it, he will open up the wallet. I can guarantee that Jerry is liking what he is seeing and is already planning ahead for Cooper's new deal. Cooper has nothing to worry about financially.

Why would a QB want to throw to a receiver who isn't open? Why would a QB want to throw an INT? Why would a QB want Dez on his team?

How about this. Cooper wasn't the first option. That play was designed for Beasley. Had he not throw it, copper finishes with 90 yards. That's discouraging. It says that they weren't thinking of getting him the ball deep. That says that these types of games will be rare. It shows that the coaches are still conservative. They didn't call one deep pass to Cooper. How often do you expect Dak, to get the ball to Cooper over the deep middle?

You can't change peoples opinions even if they are wrong. You might as well be talking to a brick wall. "that play was designed for Beasley". What the heck ever.

My butt was designed for size 32 jeans but I wear a size 38. Not sure what I mean by that but it sounded good in my mind at the time. :)
