I’d only put Michael Irvin above him. For those of you making fun of Jerry for this statement, what WR in a Cowboys uniform past or present is a better route runner?

Cooper is making DBs look silly.

It's more the entire picture with Jerry and why people laugh at him. His hyperbole is always over the top. He loves talking about how great his players are which in turn is just another way to pay himself on the back for acquiring said player.

Honestly, what GM/owner does and says stuff like this with the frequency that Jerry does? No one. What owner/GM makes weekly appearances on TV/radio, is always in the press talking, etc? None that I know of.

At this point, he's just a cartoon.

If Jerrah says it..

It's giddy euphoria on full display but I can't say for certain that Jerry is wrong here.

What this has me thinking about is all of that cap space the team now has is going to quickly be used up this offseason.

  • I think Lawrence is getting paid, likely a $100 million contract
  • I think Cooper is getting paid, another $100 million contract
  • I think Dak is getting paid, $100 million for him too
  • I think Byron Jones is getting paid, though probably not $100 million for him
  • On top of that, I think they end up signing Earl Thomas and paying him about $10 million a year on his deal
I see a whole lot of money being spent in Dallas this offseason. And I'm fine with locking up or acquiring proven talent. I just hope they make sure they have the right coaching in place to maximize that player talent

May be a prisoner of the moment, but he certainly is a fantastic route runner.

Out of all the players I've watched since I've been a fan, Witten is the guy that always stands out due to his route running. For a guy that had zero moves, lost straight line speed, and wasn't an athletic freak, Witten definitely had to have good route running in order to be as productive as he was.

I’ve been watching cowboys since the 60’s and I’ve never seen a better route runner in all those years
Jerry and his best friend Blue Label talking again. Drew Pearson, Mike Renfro, Michael Irvin to name a few. Beasley not bad either

Re
I wouldn't say he is wrong. Jerry is pretty eccentric but at least he does his part to try and prop up his players. Confidence can go a long ways. I would rather have that than an owner who would enjoy slandering his team.
Complements or props coming from JJ is like a Richard Simmons complementing George Patton on his WW2 tank command strategy.
