Question for the Dak Detractors

I don't think it is possible to move on from Dak and compete for a championship in the same year without signing a high caliber starter who has become available for strange reasons. Peyton Manning is a recent example. I don't see a QB of that caliber becoming available next year and Teddy Bridgewater is not of that caliber. Maybe Joe Flacco (he won Superbowls and will likely be available) but I don't think he has enough left.

That means Dallas would have to draft a QB who would become better than what Dak's ceiling is. Drafting a QB pushes a Superbowl run back two or three seasons at least and with the draft picks Dallas would have to use to move up for a QB there wouldn't be much left to support that QB.
All it would take is a QB who can be a top 15 passer to make a night & day difference in this offense. You always "want" a more elite QB than that but this would be sufficient to make this team a legit threat. Currently, we have a QB whose passing skills are in the bottom 5-7 & whose size & running talent elevates him to somewhere in the high teens to low 20's overall grade. It's just not enough.

Cooper has helped Dak simply because he's the type of WR Dak needs, a sharp route runner. I would imagine that Cooper's skillset didn't fit w/ Carr, though I definitely do not know the particulars.
All that might be the case and I'm not even arguing that tbh but doesn't change what I said originally though. Until this game he was having Dez from last year game numbers.

As a Dak detractor here is what I would do.

1) No extension for Dak. He plays 2019 under his current deal.
2) I draft someone in the 2nd or 3rd round - Finley, maybe a Grier (if they fall as both might get overvalued and end up in Rd 1). The kid from Duke is another raw kid that might be there in the 3rd round.
3) I investigate what it could cost for Bridgewater. No other FA makes sense.
4) I bring in a legit OC that can work with a QB like Dak. Linehan and Moore get crap canned.

I am basically carpet bombing the QB position this offseason, if I can.
Sooo, does this formula stand if the boys make the NFCC?????????

Annnd this was Coopers what 3rd game as a receiver with Dak? Just sayn...

Not sure he can get that much without having played, but I think it will be more than the $6 mil he's playing under.

And then there is the question: is he an upgrade?

His last full season numbers were worse than Dak's 2017.

Good question.......IMO NO!!!!! but see for yourself

What's interesting is there isn't one QB on OP list that would be a clear upgrade from Dak.

The Pooper has helped Dak because he can get separation on Daks first read.

You apparently haven't watched the YT of the great Tony tossing INT's like they were marshmellows at a camp fire

You mean the video you could make for literally any QB who has played a decent amount of time? I could make a video showing every one of Brady's 167 regular season picks, but it wouldn't mean a thing.

Dak is a gamer with no real arm talent. If the NFL is determined to go the Saints/Chiefs/Rams route, that won't get it done.
Not true. His arm talent has been inconsistent.

If you want Mahomes/Goff/Brees, good luck finding him. You will always come up short when comparing your QB to the best in the NFL.

I really wish you'd stop repeating this arm talent thing. It's a really weak argument w/ no teeth. We've all seen Dak thread some windows and toss some beautiful deep stuff. What really hurts Dak is consistency, which is the downfall of many/most young QB's. It would be really interesting to see what an NFL mind at OC could do w/ Dak. Riley would be great, I agree.

All due respect Sydla. There are a few here who do seem to hate Dak.

I wouldn’t say that for most posters. Certainly not you. But there are a few.
Call them out because talking about on field suckage isn't hate. People overuse the hell out of that word smh. Now if you have poster talking about off field stuff I'll agree with hate but on field nah.

His arm talent is inconsitent. Yeah. Thats a way to put it. In other words: he is just not a good passer. Thats all. Maybe a good college QB. But nothing more.

Seriously. Dont talk in extremes.

Just because Dak is a below avereage QB doesnt mean we all want to find supreme talent at the QB position.

We just need a good QB.

It's always funny to me that people just immediately go to the "hate" criticism when posters aren't fawning over a player.

Why can't it be simply be that Dak is a middling QB with a limited ceiling?
That's an opinion, you don't know what his ceiling is. That is the exact type of false claim that makes it appear people hate Prescott.
Another sure sign is when you criticize Prescott but also post things he's done very well and the anti-Dak crowd come in full force ignoring the criticism and calling you a dak slobberer or other idiotic names.
Look around dude - it's everywhere.

Now that you have seen Dak for almost three seasons, any inkling that Romo was a bus driver should have been corrected in your mind. If you still think that, maybe you should go buy a book on football.
Riiight, cause Romo won all those NFC championships and SB's here yay, is that book in the fantasy or fiction isle?

I'm just saying you're saying nothing. We can only go by what we currently have saw unless you know the future for sure.
Your just saying.......what? it takes more then a game or 2 for a QB and receiver to link up and know each other, good grief, that's like what Football 0.1

A decent backup is looking for the chance to be QB1 and get a lot more money. The Joneses have done nothing but keep backing Dak and talking contract extension. If they do extend him, think they're going to let Garrett get the hook? They are so much more about how it appears to be than it really is no way they're admitting another mistake.

A "justa backup" is going to be nothing more than that and none of the players on that left side have proven they're a QB1 that can sustain that.

The best path, and I do not think they're going to take it, is to let Dak play out the final year of his contract and decide at that point what to do with him. They've shot their mouths off too much about him getting extended and being the answer that they have to do something this off season. There are some good looking QB's coming out in 20 and I've not seen yet whether Herbert will come out in 19 or wait a year.

With guys like Tua, Murray and Lawrence and maybe Herbert in the wings, they have the luxury of waiting until 20 but if they give Dak even high Tier 2 QB money, they're committed. They do that deal, no way they can bring in competition like that and I tell ya, I'd take any one of those QB's over Dak.

And before a Dakster goes off on me, most of that stems from them not putting the right complimentary players around any QB since Aikman and that was not this group that did that.

Sooo, just like that, all those "complimentary" players get placed on the team, and our sucky QB Dak who is now flipping hash can watch his predecessor winning SB's... wow I'm glad it was this easy.
