He has good inside sources. He’s never wrong. In the past he knew Romo was going to retire before all of us. He knew Witten was going to retire before all of us. He knew The Cowboys would make a splash trade before it happened. Now he’s saying the Witten return is at 60%. Check his twitter feed they’re also talking about it on the fan.

Didn't he also predict Romo was gonna come out of retirement earlier in the year?

I think Ben is just like most of us...fandom wanting that 1 more shot for Witten and Romo
He has inside sources and a personal relationship with Romo. If he said that he heard something from Romo himself. Bottom line is he’s definitely a reliable source. He knows things well before anyone else.

Would be a fairy tale story. Jerry said we're going to have one to remember this season.

Isn't this sort of thing unprecedented? Has a player ever retired to the booth and then un-retired to come back and play?

Don't think he predicted a Romo return, though he may have hoped for it.

As for Witten...60% chance is not a very confident prediction.

Is Witten in football shape? We need the TE position to become an integral part of our offense again. Maybe we try getting the ball to the guys we have. They're all green, but you have to start somewhere. Rico blocks a lot. Throw him the ball sometime.

Sidenote: I wish Tavon was still out there. He and Dak were developing something before the injury.

I could see Witten returning for a time. He was stating 5 more years just a year ago?

If it does happen, I think it would be a huge boon to our offense in the short run.

Man that would be great!

That MNF broadcasting team is just terrible. I literally want to turn the game off. Not just the sound because the echoes would still be ringing in my ears.

Unretirement or not, I hope ESPN pulls the plug on that group and starts over soon.

Witten is getting better at the mnf gig. If he walks away from that he may never get a lucrative announcing gig again. Just to play a few games?

I'd gladly take him back because he's better than what we have

Only way it would make sense is if Witten doesn't like broadcasting (or thinks he's going to lose his job) and the Cowboys are interested in making him TEs coach once he retires a second time.

Saints win the Superbowl.

Brees retires.

Payton opts out.

Jerry comes to his senses and gets us a real nfl coach.
