gallup's production would be higher. yes. that doesn't mean his numbers would equal cooper's. yes, if dak hit gallup every single time he was open deep, maybe it would be fairly close. and if dak hit cooper every single time HE was open, it would quickly not be close again. cooper being a much better WR matters quite a bit. cooper doesn't just get open on deep passes (statistically much harder to complete). that's gallup's main bag right now. cooper can get open deep, middle, shallow, in the middle, on the outside - anywhere. being a much better WR will generally give that WR better numbers.
That's just not true and you only have to go back to the last game and see Gallup in loads of space in the middle of the field and watch Dak throw it 10 feet over his head for a INT.
Gallup has been tremendous as a rookie and he has high upside and could be on par with Cooper at some point in his career.
People want to put a limit on the type of upside Michael Gallup has but the only thing that has limited him so far is Dak's ability to throw the football.
"Oh he's just a #2 receiver anyways." "He'll never be a #1."
Blah blah blah. Gallup has legit talent and could be one of the better receivers in the NFL and he could've been one of the more productive WR's in the NFL THIS SEASON if Dak could throw him the football.
