Dak has his flaws, but I never understood those that couldn't recognize what a shell of himself Dez had become. He was no better than a #2 or #3 receiver the last few years. He couldn't win any matchups with the guy across from him.

clearly Cooper is a superior route runner. Dak just couldnt make the right kinds of throws to be successful with Dez, ie back shoulder, 50/50 jump balls and accurate go routes.

Ah too bad our QB couldnt help the one trick pony who was paid like a #1 WR be better instead of you know the hyped up #1 WR being a crybaby and dropping balls like a bum

You can't compare the 2 receivers they are different types. (Like trying to compare Witten and Tony Gonzales) Dez is a back should, jump in the air, circus catch type player. He requires the ball to be on the money. Cooper is a speed demon who's the best at route running.

In hindsight, when I was watching vids Dez was putting out this season before being signed by New Orleans, it became very clear to me. My goodness he was as slow as a Witten in every one of them.

Dak needs proficient route running recivers where as Romo did not....dez was very good physically and it made up for his lack of good routes....

Amari is better suited to play with dak than dez was given need on crisp routes....pretty simple really

Had Dez had the chance to play with Brees he would be back to the old Dez.

Coops strenghts cover up a lot of Daks flaws and is a much better fit in this offense than Dez was, but i'm not buying the Dez was the problem line. Dak routinely misses wide open recivers. He's either not looking their way at all or just can't throw a pass anywhere near them. The only one he seems alble to connect with regularly is Coop and i think that's more on Coop than Dak

100%, If Dez was healthy and with the Saints, we'd be in a very different position today. Dez needs accuracy period.

Dez is no longer here so why even worry about it? Dak requires an elite route runner or he fails to connect see every other wide receiver since he's been here. These receivers make Dak look good....not the other way around.

Some genuinely bummed guy at the bar asked me, "Do you miss Dez?". I'm like, "Are you serious, man?!" Then I had to explain to him in a half drunken slur what some of his deficiencies were, and why Coop makes the whole discussion irrelevant anyway.

Respectfully, no he wouldn't.

I was as big of a Dez Bryant fan as anyone, but his game was predicated on elite, acrobatic athleticism and he's now 30 years old with a body that's been breaking down over the last 4 seasons.

They were successful enough to make the Pro Bowl together in 2016. Dez's fall off began in 2017.
I was going to say... you could probably put together a very comparable 6 game stretch from Dez’s 2016 game logs, albeit not as many yards due to the flukish yard totals that Cooper himself couldn’t duplicate.
In truth, Dak’s perfect 2016 cocoon faded back into history and Dez got hurt, and that explained 2017.
