How Good Are We?

Season is coming to an end. We've won 5 in a row. Say what you will, but I think we are better than we think. Is Dak on a learning curve? Yes. Is the O Line banged up? Yes. However, we have consistently played thru this to a point where I am on the fence. This team has the talent to destroy its opponents. That's not hyperbole. It's here.

20+ years of ups, and downs has created a divide in our fan base. We're not the same as we were in the golden age. We're a divided castle, arguing that our King is not worthy of his throne. We all have the same objective, but faith has withered in us elderly, and even those beyond.

Are we contenders? Or are we pretenders?

I see both every game. When Pittsburgh won with Rothlessturder, I didn't understand how it was possible. He's so much better now than then, but somehow they won despite his inefficiency.

Can this team do it? I don't think it's impossible. I think it's a stretch, but it's not the first time I saw lightening strike.

Cheers to optimism. Cheers to The Dallas Cowboys. Let's get 6!

Pittsburgh won their superbowls because of the refs. They're good but the AFC has been weak for a long time.

Dallas is good but dont think theyre good enough to go far into the playoffs. Dont think they can clean the mistakes up enough.

Refs? Really?
That defense was dirty, the offense ran, ate clock, and made it work. Roth was inconsistent, but showed up from time to time. This is all too familiar. I'm just hoping we can continue to be staunch defensively. The offense is getting better weekly, despite bome headed plays.

Ya especially the Seattle one. That might be the most ridiculous game ever in the nfl.

We are what we said we would be all summer long. Young, improving, talented and inconsistent.

5 wins in a row is fairly consistent dont you Think? The inconsistency that played the team earlt in the year are gone for the most lart

Outside of te I think it's a mostly elite team with a barely serviceable qb! If the playoffs were today they would lose to Seattle, delusions would be crushed and the shrill screaming and vigorous stomping of wittle feet here would be deafening!

If the playoffs were today I'm not sure we couldn't beat Seattle, but if we did lose I'm sure it would be because they made Dak beat them, which is everybody's game plan.

I dont know, for a team thats defense was supposed to be a shell of its former self it sure looked good Monday night! Maybe I drank too much but do believe I would rather play the vikes at this point.

How good are they? Here's the most basic, simple way to look at it:

Defense - top notch, possibly championship caliber. Performing above and beyond initial expectations
Offense - erratic and unreliable, although the addition of Cooper has provided a spark
Coaching - Garrett is still mediocre, bordering on totally incompetent. I give Linehan a little slack because he's running Garrett's predictable scheme and plays. Marineli / Richard are having career years.

We are what we are, a physical team that exerts their will through a talented offensive line, the best running back in the league, and a solid defense.

We grind the ball, which means lots of close games, even when we have dominated time of possession.

If Amari Cooper is on this roster from week 1, the team is probably 11-2 and vying for the first seed.

Yeah, we’re a top 5 team in this league with the chance to beat just about anyone.

We will lose this week to the Colts as they do not have 7 injured starters on defense.....we are Superbowl material with the ball and chain being Dak....figure best case scenario a one and done in the playoffs due to a inept passing game.....

Are we ever going to get the calls like the Steelers did in 2005 and 2008? I think not. I remember watching the Steelers in December and in the playoffs and said to myself "We will never get to a Super Bowl in that manner". And the situation is far worse now. Goodell and the NFL league office hates Jerry Jones and what he stands for.

In order for the Cowboys to ever win a Super Bowl with the Jones' in power, we will have to be head and shoulders better than other teams where the officiating is so bad that it is painfully obvious even amongst the most ardent Cowboy haters. It would have to be Super Bowl XL bad.

You are what your record says you are.

The Cowboys have a great amount of talent spread across the roster and can beat anyone. As they move into the post season, the margin for error dramatically constricts. They have a lot to clean up. Issues with penalties and ball security will be magnified against playoff caliber teams and much more difficult to overcome. The only team that would worry me in tournament is the Saints in the Voodoo Lounge.

If the Cowboys go into Indy and beat the Colts for #6 in a row, I have no doubt they can make a run in January.

We will most likely have to beat Seattle, NO and LA, unless say, Chicago beats LA, then we will have to play them, probably at Chicago in the freezing weather.

If we can get through that gauntlet, the AFC including KC we can beat any AFC team. Actually I think we would have a harder time with LA Chargers than KC or even NE. If the Texans, I think we take them too. But I don't think the Texans get that far.
