Video: We've seen Romo deliver plenty of these type of games Dak just had, yet doesn't get the same grief?

You are 100% wrong. I know what I recall and what happened with Romo. Tony was taken to the woodshed like I have never seen with any other long term starting QB. EVER.

I not saying that there were some pretty rough comments about Romo, just that is was the sAme group doing it day after day on every thread just like what Prescott is going through now.

Why are we talking about Mahomes having Dak stats? That’s a straw man argument. If Mahomes took over in 2016 and put up close to 5k yards, 50 TDs and a 115 QBR, nobody is talking about anything besides the next superstar QB. Nobody.
I haven't had as much time to watch other games like I have in past years so I haven't seen much of Mahomes or even looked at his stat line.

You used him in a hypothetical so I did the same by putting him squarely in the same position Dak was at the end of 2016. Regardless of stats there are some that would bicker and complain because in their mind he robbed Romo of a Superbowl. That's the point.

If Mahomes took over in 2016 and had the same exact year as Dak he would still get bashed. People have literally said that Dak only won 13 games because he was playing with the team built for Romo. They have also said it wasn't fair not to play Romo because the team was built for him and he didnt even get to use it.

Bottom line is many of Romo's most zealous fans see Dak as having robbed Romo of his last and best chance to win a Superbowl that they feel he rightly deserves. It doesn't matter what Dak does now. For some he will never be forgiven for what they blame him for.

Mahomes is light years better then Dak.

Mahomes has 43 TDs right now with a couple of games to play. Dak had 45 his first 2 seasons. This is why these threads are so stupid. Why can't people just accept that Dak is an average QB with exceptional intangibles?

Here's the funny, not ha ha funny, part of it is those fans that feel that Prescott robbed Romo of his best chance for a Super Bowl act like it was Prescott's call to start all of the games. That it was Prescott that told Romo he had to sit when that was Garrett's call to make.

See my post right above yours.

Truth hurts I know, but even as painful as truth can be at times, the pain of it shouldn't keep it from being said. There are no questions about Mahomes being a franchize QB. The Jury is still out on Dak.

When you feel the need to discredit, tarnish and vilify one of your franchises all time best players to prop up a current player, that says more than any statistic or debate ever could.

You think if Mahomes was the QB here and not Dak that this comparison would even need to be made? No. And why is that? Because Mahomes hasn’t left any doubt that he is THAT guy. I bet you can go to a Chiefs board and they aren’t trashing all their old QBs just to try and prove how good he is. They don’t need to.

Tell me, has there ever been a QB that played lights out for a year and then been pretty much average after that? Yes Mahomes is having a great season but when he does it again after this season will be when I'll say he's legit. Only about 3 years ago they were saying the same things about Derek Carr and what has he done the past couple of seasons?

Will say Dak has made improvements this year, even without looking at Cooper. We will know he has arrived as a quality starter when defenses stop stacking the box so much and start defending the big play.

That’s fair. Right now that’s all we have to go on and if he did it here, nobody would have anything except praise for him. Romo would be a complete afterthought.

When you're TRYING to compare apples to apples when it's really apples to oranges lets also throw in that the Cowboys have been a run first offense since Prescott's rookie season and hasn't thrown anywhere near as many passes as Mahomes. The Cowboys have been a ball control time chewing offense, not a gee lets just fling it around offense.

He seems to be playing with more swag atm. Daks got a long way to go.H e has many flaws to work on, and I hope he gets them worked out soon. He is not a QB that makes those around him better imo.

I was bummed Romo lost his job. I wanted a different end to his story and even Big Ben didn't have enough juice as a rookie to win the big game. Understood the decision though for the long term and never blamed Prescott for it.

You know it's possible that Dak just has some significant weaknesses in his game still. Pointing them out shouldn't be a crime.

With us being a run first team, why do we always go pass happy in the red zone? Why is our red zone O so bad?

Pocket awareness is something he'll fix over time. Romo had horrible pocket awareness at one time. To me, Tim Tebow doesn't compare to Dak. I don't know how people compare him to Tebow. Tebow, to me, was not an NFL QB.

here is a great video of some pocket awareness! :)

Sure but we ran that way in 2014 too and Romo had 34 TDs, his 2nd highest year. I don't expect Dak to play as well Romo at the end of his career but let's also not pretend that 24 TDs is the benchmark of success in this offense.

It's not a crime but every day someone starts a "lets rip Prescott thread" and even threads that start off on a different thought always ends up as another rip on Prescott thread and almost all of the ripping is the same group who make it their daily goal to rip Prescott as much as possible. They continue their whining and do it in such a manner that they make it sound like Prescott is the only player in the NFL that has made mistakes, had some bad plays or even a bad game. While they whine and point out the losses they blame Prescott and when someone points out something their comeback is "oh he had a great line and Zeke". In other words the losses are all Prescott's fault but the wins were all Zeke and the line that got the wins.
