According to the local sports radio jocks, Taco was healthy scratch last weekend.

Healthy is a relative term, though. A lot of players are healthy enough to play while actually limited by injury.

I think they are testing this young man, trying to motivate him (I have heard of 2 reports over last 3 weeks saying he had a couple of huge practices - but then must slump again), trying to toughen him mentally, and want see what he has got. I think he gets another offseason for sure, and next season he will have chance to earn a spot on game day roster. Some guys take 3 years to get going. I don't think Marinelli likes pouters - so Taco has to watch his attitude. Some guys can get away with being pouty some can't - just the way it is. If we are having same conversations next season - then likely he was a bust for a 1st rounder, but sometimes it takes time for it all to come together. Plus, we give Irving and Gregory 1000 chances (yes, they have more obvious physical attributes/talent), so Taco probably should get a bit more time.

Will McClay, the scouting dept., and the front office can't win them all

i don't fault them if Taco turns out to be a bust, they have hit a multitude of grand slams elsewhere

Remember when he had that clever taco celebration and the endorsement deal with the Tex Mex restaurant?

Good times.

Yep. They blew that pic like the space shuttle and they know it. Take a kid who has a motor like his older star brother or some lazy primadonna? Guess which one we got.

Watt was not the right fit for this defense. So it wasn’t a blown pick from that standpoint.
It may be blown that they did not make a move in another direction .
Time will tell.

But lament away if you must.

Ugh, I loved the pick when we made it but at this point I'm calling him a bust. Will add the caveat that it looks like I was wrong about Gregory. Second caveat that Gregory has to clean up his stupid penalties.
BM, you also were wrong about Dak. That makes you wrong on 3 for 3. Talk about a total bust! :p:D **runs**

Eh, what else is he going to say?

Management is always going to spin these situations positively even when they're concerned behind closed doors.

They likely won't say much negatively about him publicly at all, even if warranted. If they ever do it'll only be either to motivate him or after the decision to cut ties has been made.

I'll let their decisions on his roster status and his play time/performance if he's active do the talking.

The scheme fit! Always the best way to go...

Smoke screen. Why tell teams we are wanting to move him and drive down the price?

Sounds like we just learned who our first inactive player is.
