Thanos just granted your wish and Dak is no longer the Cowboys QB, much to your delight.

Everything else is the same, so now, you’re on the clock to find a QB who’s clearly better than Dak (otherwise, why get rid of him?) while trying to remain relevant while the clock ticks on young players (Zeke, Martin, Tyron, Fred Beard [hopefully], Cooper, Tank, etc.).

You don’t have a 2019 first, and you’re likely to pick at the end of each round.

What do you do (realistically)?

Fix the QB situation. Go.

Dak hasn't had the benefit of better coaching and support nearly to the extent that Luck and others have had this year. He'll improve, given time with the surrounding talent and coaching to make it so. If not, he'll eventually be relegated to the status of backup. I'm pretty sure that many of us would be gratified to see as much. Patience isn't one of our most notable traits as fans, after all.

Guys like Andrew Luck and Jared Goff have come a long way in terms of their improvement with the proper support. Dak should rightfully be afforded such an advantage! How many of us can wait for that to happen? The Cowboys' front office is slow making changes -- I think it's really a shame that Dak's paying a heavy price for that! Maybe they'll wake up in the offseason. It's obviously high time that they do, judging by our limited production.

Patience? 3 years is more than enough time to evaluate a player. We’ve, seen a major regression from the first season and a below average season this year in which he’s ranked in the bottom 1/3 of Qb’s. He’s a liability in this offense and the numbers bear it out. This isn’t the 1970’s where a Qb Is brought up slowly as a back up and then groomed for a starting position. Its now put up or shut up and he’s had 3 years and going nowhere fast. Enough with the cheesy videos already and start performing

Sweet, so you know that we will be in position to draft Tua given Bridgewaters obviously terrible play, given that we’ll be in position to select Tua.

Then why go after Bridegwater?

We’d be just as good if not better with Bridgewater.

When I say get Tua, i meant trading up for him

Easy, don’t sign him to this assanine contract, keep him driving the bus and do like every other team would do. Evaluate, the backups, look via free agency, trade for a draft spot upgrade. It’s been this way since the league started. Just because we have 3 years invested in him is no reason to be held hostage. He’s already wasted enough time, just as our #5 ranked defense is peaking. This problem took 3 years to rear its ugly head so why demand a quick fix? It will take time but what remains clear is that; he ain’t gettin it done, nephew

I like Brisgewater and would have already had him in here to push Dak if I was running things. . .

Because, regardless of player, competition always breeds success.

That said, Dak would beat Teddy like a drum. But the competition would make Dak better.

Dak is operating under better circumstances than most.

A great defense and the best running game in the NFL.

Before the A. Cooper trade, he had one of the worst if not the worst receiving corp in the league.

That has nothing to do with my post

W/L % is reflective on the defense here in Dallas. Not the offense
WL percentage is a reflection of the team effort. After all, one player doesn't win or lose a game. It's a total team effort....

Unless we lose. Then it's all Dak's fault. Right? o_O

My friend, I mean it’s all well and good if you can guarantee A.) we can sign Bridgewater from other teams that will certainly try (including the Saints [Brees isn't getting any younger]), B.) his contract won't hurt our chances at losing our own key players, C.) that we'll make the playoffs with Bridgewater, D.) some team will let us trade up from the 20s to top-2-5 and E.) that if we're not picking #1, that the other team(s) won't draft Tua in front of us.

My point is that a whole lot of dominos have to fall into place — a lot — in order to accomplish that.

Who's signing him to anything? IMO, the Cowboys (I hope) are going to let him play out 2019 (hopefully with new OC and QB Coach) and reevaluate then.

Again, I'm an Aikman fan, so I've seen how a HOF QB can help, and I'm on the fence with Dak, but I don't see an answer for 2019.

Unless we can continue the amazing drafting we've had, we have a finite timeframe with the current players, especially Zeke and OL. In the best case scenario, a rookie QB would probably take 2-3 years to get up to speed.

I'm all for upgrading every position, but barring an absolute miracle, I don't see how any QB unseats Dak in 2019.
