Excellent breakdown of Dallas' Defense vs Colts

I’m sure the videos are great but schemes were such a distant 2nd when it came to the problems of the Cowboys against the Colts.

There was simply a lack of effort from the Cowboys players.

Defense seems to deflate when offense ineptitude repeats...

And wear down, especially when getting run on

Watching Dak this year reminds me of how Romo changed his playing style after JG took over the offense and wanted Romo to become more like Brady and less like Favre. More of a pure pocket passer. Romo stopped scrambling and ended up taking sacks much more than he did before this "Brady" make over.

I remember many fans asking the same question we are today with Dak. Fans wanted Romo to go back to scrambling more instead of being a sitting duck in the pocket. Fans wanted to have more plays with a moving pocket. More roll outs. Etc.. etc..

It's like JG is coaching these guys not to be a mobile QB. Romo eventually started to go back to being himself but still didn't play like he did under Parcells/Sprano.

Sprano was still here in 2007. JG's changes started to show in 2008 when he was all about wanting to be more like NE.

I think Cowboys came in with a mindset of stopping Luck in the meantime Mack ate their lunch with 139 rushing and 2 TD. Hell Dak had more passing yards than Luck. Most depressing part however was the tackling, that was pathetic. I know 100% this defense is better than that but they looked flat all day long. I just hope they come out PO'ed this weekend and take it out on Tampa Bay.

Cameron points out several times that our offensive line basically had no chance to get to their assignments on run blocks. Just a terrible call against that formation.

This shouldn’t happen and when it happens multiple times it confirms what most of us know. This staff is outcoached time and time again.

I know. The players need to execute better. We all know that and that’s the simple answer. Too simple.

The staff should be compensating for the players not executing perfectly every play. Not vice versa.
They also don’t need to make it nearly impossible to execute the play/blocks.

We had issues with execution, but there were problems with the looks they were giving us. We were just not prepared to handle the formations and adjustments they made, thoroughly outcoached on both sides of the ball.

Defense took themselves out of plays, with lazy effort and poor execution. But, yeah. Colts did scheme well and of course Dallas' TOP NOTCH coaching couldn't do diddley squat to adjust. Shocker.

Watch this vid if you want an excellent breakdown how the Colts specifically schemed against LVE and Smith. Indy made a concerted effort to take LVE and Smith out of the game which lead to a huge day on the ground. If Dallas does not make adjustments going forward other teams will use similar blocking schemes.

That was a good breakdown. It was sad to hear him say "everything the Colts were doing to Dallas, is what Dallas should have been doing to the Colts"

Redmond and Williams at the OG positions really limited our ability to do much along the OL.

It was a bad day all around for the team— but the Colts owned us up front.

Eberflus had first hand knowledge of a lot of our personnel and scheme— and Reich knows us well from his Philly days.

Coaching matters lol... can only hope that this L motivates everyone to get back to work

Funny thing I was thinking about watching the game. The people that think LVE and Smith are better than Lee are crazy. Lee wouldn't have got caught up on blocks consistently like that.

The Colts’ offensive game plan surprised me. They called plays like they were trying to protect a backup quarterback. It apparently surprised the Cowboys as well.

No It wasn't. There was much talk about how JG wanted Romo to be more of a pocket passer like Brady than a scrambling QB.

Thanks for the video. The offense break down from the same guy was interesting as well. It shows how our offensive staff couldn't adjust to what Colts were trying to do. We had no answers.

To me, the most frustrating things about Dak are

1. Just does not care about technique when he throws. Does not step up or set his feet even when he has time and no one is close. Shows laziness and carelessness

2. Inability to make pre snap reads therefore can't anticipate. Shows laziness or lack of smarts

As usual, JG is trying to fit square peg into round hole. Dak is not a pocket passer. He is more of McNabb than Aikman. McNabb was inaccurate and was a 59% career passer yet he won year in and year out due to Fatboy Andy being able to use him the right way. And this with scrub receivers most of McNabbs career. T.O was only good receiver he had and it was only for 2 seasons.
