How come we aren’t talking about Wentz anymore?

I’m trying to decide what’s funnier... Dak slobberers pretending that Foles didn’t stink out the joint in the first two starts of the season to the point where Philly fans wanted to rush Wentz back from injury or Dak slobberers pretending Wentz is having some kind of “bad” season when he’s been better than Dak in pretty much every way imaginable...
since you called us all slobberers, who are you slobbing?

Even with the cap increase and if they keep Foles they are already over the cap for 2019 by around $14 million, that doesn't include money they need to sign draft picks. I'm not a cap expert, but if they keep Foles they need to shed/restructure $20 million minimum. That means restructuring and losing significant pieces for a backup QB.

Foles will never sign here even if he becomes available. He was upset when Jerry dissed him when he was available before. After Moore got injured, Jerry changed his mind about Foles, but Foles thumbed his nose at Jerry and signed with KC, wouldn't even consider Jerry's offer. He wasn't going to play for Jerry then and he isn't going to play for Jerry now.

you make a valid point about Philly's cap situation I wasn't aware they were that far over already even with the increase

As far as Foles I think you are under estimating Jerry's salesmanship ability. Also if the Eagles did decide to thumb their nose at him, what better way could he stick it up their rear end then to go to a hated rival and propel them to a championship

It's at least an angle that might appeal to a competitor like Foles

Demarco felt disrespected here and took less money to go to Philly than he could have gotten elsewhere. He didn't win a title there but I think Foles here makes us an instantly legitimate contender

Jerry is not going to make an offer to Foles plain and simple and regardless of Jerry's salesmanship Foles wouldn't consider it. Foles told his agent last time, he didn't care what our offer was. Philly is not disrespecting Foles, they are in a situation that it may not be financially unable to keep him not because they are unwilling. Foles isn't that great a QB, I think he's more a product of the right system and any other team signing him will just end up with a slightly better version of Case Keenum.

There used to be a few weekly threads on Carson Wentz, and now... nothing. What gives?

Oh, right. Because his 5-6 record (2nd losing season in 3 years) that the Wentz crowd tried blaming on his supporting cast looks like complete garbage compared to what NICK FOLES is doing. LOL!

Foles, the Super Bowl MVP, is 3-1 this season and just beat the Rams and Texans. With the same team that Wentz couldn’t crack .500 with.

Wentz isn’t clutch and his stats don’t translate to many wins. Philly was the absolute WORST scoring team in the 1st quarter this season... now add the fact that Wentz is hilariously un-clutch with the game on the line (3 for 11 on game-winning drives??) and there’s your 5-6 record.

Foles has completely exposed Wentz and I LOVE IT. What happened to the CowboysZone Wentz Wagon???
:lmao2:

This is why I'm a member of this site because of awesome like minded post like this.

I doubt he retires now. He was probably considering it before because the market for him wasn't there. Now that hes looking at a nice contract and the chance to start he will probably keep his NFL dream alive.

Yep.

A team like Jacksonville will be ready to offer him good money I would think.

Does a slightly better version of Case Keenum throw for 375 yards and 3 TD in the Super Bowl against NE?

If you're not high on Foles so be it but TBH I don't think that's a legit analogy. Foles is miles ahead of keenum

I do agree that Jerry probably won't make an offer to him unfortunately. It would be a far too intelligent move. Therefore there's little chance we'll do it

We'll pay Dak $20 million a year instead and then have to let all the players go who are carrying his sorry behind

You mean when he was playing for the Ram's under Jeff Fisher. Fisher almost destroyed Foles and Keenum's careers and was in the process of destroying Goff's career before he was canned. I think we may have our own Jeff Fisher (Jason Garrett/Scott Linehan) on the coaching staff. I have no doubt in my mind that a Dak would thrive under a coach like Sean Payton and Romo probably would have had post season success under a coach like Sean Payton.

Kinds of made you wonder if Steve "Air" McNair might be the greatest QB of all time? Imagine McNair under Bill Belichick.

What’s great is the point of this thread wasn’t even to hype up Nick Foles.

It was to show that even a guy like Nick Foles can WIN with the same supporting cast that Carson Wentz has.

So if you think Foles sucks, guess what? That only strengthens the argument that Wentz is a loser.

They tried to blame the supporting cast. They tried to say, “But look at Wentz’s stats! It’s not his fault!”

Then Foles took a dump all over that nonsense.

You’re 100% right that based on his career so far, there’s no way that anyone can say with confidence that Wentz would’ve come away with that win vs Houston yesterday.

I just came in to say this.....Kurt Cousins has great stats too.....

stated on tv during game, foles is due 20 million on next years contract, that is why they were saying it's his last game for Eagles....he will be a salary cap causualty

Yeah if thats his salary he will surely be gone, but he isn't going to retire. Someone will scoop him up.

It’s going to get real interesting in Philly if Foles continues to play this well especially if Philly gets in the playoffs and Foles takes them on another long run. Wentz never got back to the form he showed last season prior to his injury and now he has another injury causing him to miss the rest of the season.

Two straight seasons with injuries. Eventually his contract will be up and the Eagles are going to have to pay him. They could be facing a dilemma if Foles continues to play well and Wentz can’t stay healthy and struggles to return to the form he showed in 2017.

qb ratings don't mean much in this league anymore. wentz was not good this season if you actually watched the games. foles is a journeyman qb that comes in when wentz gets injured and plays just as well if not better two years in a row. that eagles team is a stacked roster. most any qb would win with them, wentz just lacks deep accuracy and the clutch factor and loses close games.

This thread’s not about Dak, but since you couldn’t help bringing him up...

Dak’s a “B-“ grade QB right now, but he’s a winner. Three straight winning seasons is a trend, and Dallas has never had such a great team around him that they’d be able to prop up a crappy QB. See 2015.

Dak has a good defense for the 1st time in his career this year. He doesn’t have a good OL and his receiving weapons are almost all brand new, hence the million check-downs to Zeke this year. That’s not a recipe for much success, but Dak’s found a way to win 9/15 games anyways.

Wentz is a loser. Literally. 2 losing seasons in 3 years. That’s an “elite QB”?

Nick Foles is proving that you CAN’T blame their supporting cast. Unless you think Wentz is very good but Foles is on another level and belongs in Canton someday, Wentz has no excuse.

Wentz is garbage early in games and he’s garbage late in games. I can’t wait for Philly to extend the injury-prone choke artist.
Oh my bad buddy I completely forgot that this wasn't a Cowboys forums I'm so sorry to mention the Cowboys QB.

The beauty of that is we can then say both of Philly qbs suck. Lol

Im not sure why Cowboy fans feel the need to defend Wentz. He plays for the Eagles and therefore we dont like him. Its really quite simple.

Because Wentz was God last year and we had the POS Dak.
Now that Wentz is a POS, they shut their useless traps...

It will be interesting to see what happens in Philadelphia with the QB situation next year.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

How their fan base reacts if the let Foles go and sign Wentz long term.

Then if things go bad on the field.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:
