I made no "excuse" i just said if you want to attack someone because the targets were short to intermediate and there wasnt enough deep scheming then go after the coach that put the gameplan together. Dak went 20-25 which is an 80% completion rate...sure he only through for 152 which just isnt much and 232 yards of total offense isnt going to win a ton of games unless the defense balls out.
However, attacking Dak over the scheme doesn't make sense....attack linehan, they need to open the playbook up and push Dak to throw more intermediate and deep passes. As we have seen time and time again, Dak can do it, just need the coaching and scheme to support him....and time and time again we have seen that our offensive play calling is old, boring and predictable.
I guess you didn't watch Prescott in College.
"His senior year, completion percentage went up because he threw mostly dump offs and checkdowns"
I guess Linehan was his coach back then too..
As another poster said, Dak is the ultimate "business decision" QB..
Let me explain, it's 3rd and 12 in the 4th quarter...
Dak drops back and has Cooper 1 on 1 past the 1st down marker, and Zeke in the flat..
If he throws to Cooper, he may or may not complete the pass but if he does it's a 1st down..
If he throws to Zeke, he'll get tackled before the first down but Dak will have a high completion percentage..
We all know Dak will always choose the easy throw that makes him look accurate even if his offense struggles to convert third downs..
End of the game , his QBR and completion percentage are through the roof despite the fact that he threw for 150 yards and scored only one TD all game..
Prescott in a nut shell.
