Nugget on Amari Cooper

crown royal...I have my doubts on Mayock meshing with Gruden. Anytime you put 2 alpha males together has the potential for fireworks. Its usually a tug of war. If Gruden learns how to delegate somewhat to him,it can work, but I think Mayocks time there will be short.I give it 2 years tops.

ok, Saturday is the time to judge whether Dak and Cooper is a fit together or not. BOTH MEN better be on the same page from the coin flip on or it will be a tough go.Seattle will run us out of our own stadium by the 3rd quarter. We just cant expect to turn around and run Zeke. Dak and Amari MUST take it up a notch early.
Seattle isn't good enough/we aren't bad enough to be run out of the stadium. We may or may not win, but this isn't the Saints or Rams or Chiefs we're playing offensively.

I'm not asking this to diminish what Cooper has done, but I feel like there probably aren't a lot of top level WR's that have been traded mid season over the years. Do you have numbers?

I don’t have the numbers but good receivers get traded all the time because a lot of them are knuckle heads. Golden Tate and Demarius Thomas got traded around the same time Cooper did. I bet there are a lot of people on this board who thought/think Tate is better than Cooper.

I really don't think it does happen that often, and I think this year was a bit of an anomaly. The NFL has never been like MLB where there is a flurry of activity just before the trade deadline. Another factor is obviously whether those that do get traded are acquired to be the #1 receiver on their new team. Cooper was in Dallas, but Tate and Thomas were not.

Maybe. If Mayock can repeat his understanding of the draft as a GM, though, they have a chance to find two players on the cheap for 5 years. I’d say there is a good chance the trades worked for all parties.

You are absolutely right, that could happen. But there is a better than 50/50 chance their two picks are going to be between 25-28. Do you think the Raiders make that trade knowing this before hand? Let's say the Cowboys had a 26th pick and the Bears had a 28th from other teams, do the Raiders accept that?

I'm thinking the Raiders expected top 10 picks from both teams, or close to it. The Cowboys were floundering at the time of the trade. The Bears usually stink. If the Raiders could go 6-10 with Mack, they figured so could Chicago.

Would you trade Jarwin for Antonio Brown straight up?

I don't know what this has to do with what I wrote, but as much as I think Brown is a "me first" guy, the talent would be too great to not make that deal.

Definitely worth the 25th overall pick. His acquisition saved our season.

Is that what it turned out to be?

Makes the trade a whole lot more palatable.

As an aside, I looked up Terrance Williams to see if there was any news on him. Surprised to find out he was 24 years old his rookie season. Cooper is just 24 now.

Rumors are that the Raiders are strapped for cash and may have struggled to pay some of the contracts that Mack and Cooper will demand. I think that if they were sure they were going to move on from those players, flipping them for a 1st was a no-brainer.

Mack was always going to take a first. Based on the WR market, there's a chance they would have taken a 2 for Cooper (which the eagles MAY have given up), so yeah, I think they'd be pleased at least with a 25-28 pick.

Again, you're probably right. There are several factors to look into besides the players themselves. If the Raiders are in some sort of rebuilding mode there is no need for a Khalil Mack. Or Cooper for that matter. They'll be a waste. But I really don't know how money strapped they are.

russ Wilson is capable...I just don't wanna give that guy a chance to beat us.

I just hope he doesn't start making a habit of pouting when a ball doesn't make it his way. That was kinda concerning

My inside info tells me Cooper is the type of guy who will slack off if he does not get the ball every once in a while. He’s not a “diva”, but he 100% thinks he is a playmaker and wants the ball.

I hope the Cowboys can consistently give him touches, because he makes a play whenever he has the ball and he knows it.

THATS good he thinks that way. I want my number 1 wr thinking he is THE GUY. I WOULD BE DISAPPOINTED IF HE DIDNT THINK THAT.

Well he's definitely right to think he can make big plays. He's unbelievably talented.

But it'd benefit him if he'd catch the ball.

Made himself look pretty bad when he straight up dropped the pass after sulking about a bad throw the series before.

That was a bad and untimely drop, but since drops have not been a problem with him, I'm not worried about it.
