Rapoport: Zeke wants a new contract this offseason

After we use the 5th year option, we draft a new RB.

Dak will be established and tearing it up with cooper and gallup. It will be time for a young, fast, and cheap rb.

The cowboys dont have to waste money on a RB, and zeke scores big on the free market.

I absolutely do think Dallas can get a better backup than Smith.
I have nothing against Rod Smith, he's a good back-up runner behind Zeke Almighty.

It's really a question of cost versus cap.

The team has lots of contract decisions to make over the next couple of years and paying a little used reserve just doesn't make sense.

Lawrence
Cooper
Zeke
Byron
Jaylon
Dak (I'd rather not but that's a different convo)

I dunno anything about the cap but can we afford to keep all these guys or we gonna have to let a couple of them go?
It can be done.

It really isn't a question about re-signing the players, as most contracts begin cap friendly before having big base salaries at the end, it's about 4-5 years down the road.

When thinking about who to re-sign, we also need to consider who might no longer be here in the near future?

Sean Lee and La'el Collins' deals end after next season, Jeff Heath and Tyrone Crawford's deals end after 2020. Lee and Crawford are on their way out with neither assured of playing out the final year of their deals. Decisions will be made on Collins and Heath, is LC worth a big investment on an already handsomely compensated OL? Heath has been cheap to date, is he worth a third contract or is it time to go fish?

Terrance Williams and Allen Hurns should both be let go in the off-season, which will net over $11.5M in future cap space.

Not worth it, let him walk. Anyone else noticed how much our offense opened up against the Giants when we weren’t so reliant and obsessed with the run? Upgrade the O line and we’ll be good enough at RB.

He'll hold out two games, Gregory will get in Jerry's face and throw his helmet through a wall after an 0 and 2 start. Jerry will sign Zeke and we go on and win the superbowl. Only the second team with an 0 and 2 start to do it. Can you guess the first?
Hello Emmitt.

Glad you showed up.

Just joshing.

As good as he is it arguably was a waste of resources to draft him #4 overall. Many of us maintained that all along (and continue to do so). No need to compound our mistake and throw good money after bad money by giving him a second contract.
Hope your boss at work does not think about you that way.

Would not buy any real estate right now if he is.

After watching our CB play in recent previous years, it’s funny that people are so quick to suggest we just let him walk.

Frankly, I might keep him over Zeke.

Let me understand this.

So you would base your entire offense and season on a game played against a 5-11 team?

Using RB by committee?

We just proved that does not work with the receivers.

You are brave with other people's careers.

No offense.

Just saying.

But he does not gain 2000+ yards a season.

It might take 5 guys to do that.

Do your math.

Right,,

Darren (Where is my phone?) McFadden

and our RB from the Commanders failed to dent the field once #21 arrived.

They gone.

Ron Smith is your guy?

Come on now.

No offense but you got to quit playing Madden.

It's affecting your here and now.

Again..no offense.
