Final two runs by Dak

The goal line play had me thinking Dak is done for the year. He needs to run like Russell, the 3rd down run was acceptable but the goalie was foolish. He will get himself killed.
Yea let’s have him be like Russell Wilson...
Who is Russell Wilson playing next week?

The dude stepped up and put this team and Cowboys nation on his back and this is what you take away from that performance.

Agreed. Both huge plays

That said--am I the only one who's nervous that most weeks our QB's most memorable plays are with his legs rather than his arm?

Great win tonight. I'm pumped. But we left a lot of passing yardage on the field tonight

That WILL NOT get it done at NO
I have the same concern with winning with your QB's legs than his arm. It is not the way to make it successful in the NFL. That said, making crucial plays is the key to winning no matter how they are made.

You d have to be able to do both long term. Russell made tons of plays early on in his career with his legs and now he has developed into one of the bestdeep passers there is. Hopefully Dak can get better at that!

Disagree - need more QB sneaks with Dak rather than what can go wrong like on Zekes stumble. Inches from the goal line and Dak - you gotta sneak! He is a strong dude!

I agree with you on the concern part. I really like Dak as a competitor but his throwing leaves a lot to be desired, particularly the ball placement for receivers. Not sure what they showed on TV but receivers were visibly annoyed at least for the moment last night. The best example was when we were backed up to our own goal line and that pass was incomplete to Elliott. Had Dak just floated the ball over the defender with touch, there was a ton of real estate ahead for a big play for Zeke. You can't make a living as an offense having blown opportunities like that. As for New Orleans, we can beat them with ball control like we usually attempt to do. We have to get that going. Can't depend on the defense to have another monster game against a team that will most certainly adjust.

If the defense plays the same? Yes it will.

I hope everyone keeps in mind that we just beat playoff Russell Wilson

Taking off with the football is something he will have to do occasionally if we are to go further in the playoffs.

He needs to do it during the game instead of waiting till the end. When he is hanging in the pocket and no one is open fast enough he has huge lanes to take off. If he does it a few times a game that are scrambles and no designed runs then he will have opposing defenses in a tizzy.

But once again late in the game with it all on the line, Dak makes the play. Pay the man...

I also think we have wasted drives. Early in the game I thought we had a shot to pull out in front and really change the complexity of the game. Changing the way the seahags had to play from that far behind would have forced them to stop running. Even though we played the run pretty well last night.

We always have a blown drive with either bad playcalling or execution or penalties. The penalties that blow drives is the one that irks me.

You aren't the only one, it's no secret, dude is a horrible passer.

Like I said in another thread, Seattle has the #17 ranked pass defense so there should have been no reason to have to run, unless you have a poor passing Qb.

We got used to a guy who liked to pass and was a great passer . Now we have a Football Player at QB that likes to win and can run past the line of scrimmage and impose his will when necessary .

What I like about Dak is he dosent run when its not necessary . But when its WIN OR GO HOME Dak can buckle his chin strap and lay the wood, make team pay with the power he has as a runner .
I love the fact he takes the game in his hands and wont be denied .
Yes, yesterday he played a very good 4 quarter game. Have to tip your hat to him. The run sprinkled in every now and then was good. Still trying to figure out how that's not PI on the goal line.

New Orleans will be looking to score early. They do not want this game to go down to the final possession as that caters to our style of play. We don't necessarily have to to throw it to get the job done, but we will need to make sure we cash in when we get to the redzone.
We are a bad match up for NO, simple as that. It’s all about match ups.

Dak is built like a tank so I’m not as worried about that. The worry comes in that he can’t keep doing that into his 30’s and he is not always going to be able to pick up a 3rd and 14 with his legs late in the 4th quarter. So he has got to improve his throwing on medium and long passes.

Yeah, if we face NO, we are going to have to score more than 13 next time. We will have to get to the mid 20's

Dak really put his body on the line on those final two offensive plays before the kneel downs. On the 3rd and 14 run, you could see he took a hard shot to the knee that caused him to flip. On the touchdown sneak, he took hard shoulder to the head by Wagner which left a fluorescent mark on his helmet.

Without Dak making these plays, and the other run to the 1 yard line, we would not have won the game. But those shots really concern me. The team really needs to find a way to score in the red zone with Daks arm instead of his feet.
agree, but that run was by design

I hope last night's success running with the ball will prompt him to take off more often. He can cut down on so many sacks doing this.

And we do indeed have a poor passing QB, unfortunately.

And pick up major yards. Will also change the way teams play us when they fear that. They will have to spy him and will leave them a man short in coverage.
