I don't understand how the Rams have cooled off when they scored 48 points in their last game? I know it was against the 49ers but still...LOL

I just spoke to an odds maker and he advised me "Dallas is getting slaughtered." I'm trying to wonder "what do these people know that we don't know?"

"The Rams have yet to win a postseason game under coach Sean McVay's leadership, but based on the opening betting lines from Las Vegas that could be about to change. The opening betting line had the gave the Rams a seven-point spread with an over/under of 49 points, while SportsLine had the home team coming away with a 30-21 win."

These odds makers don’t know crap.
Everyone knows, Cowboys do the slaughtering and Rams get slaughtered.

The betting line is about getting both sides of the wager to bet equal money. Betting lines are in reality not very accurate to outcomes.
I'm not disagreeing with your premise, but as a degenerate who follows such things the line is on average more accurate than any of the blowhards who predict these games for any of the outlets I've seen.

That said, I've won 6 of my last 7 betting the Boys ATS and I think it seems high (as if that actually means anything).

I prefer being the underdog. I don't care what the oddsmakers think. I am still going to root for Dem Boyz. And they can do it if they play a sound game.

That sounds like a ill informed prediction. I think Dallas is the best team in the league and coming together at the perfect time. You don't get these chances very often. Time to go play.

You're entirely right about all that; and if we lose, we'll undoubtedly look back at that checklist and be able to check 4 or 5 of those items as why we lost.

I do think the last point in your previous post about the stingy defense is one that shouldn't be buried. Goff has cooled off, and defense tends to take more precedence in the postseason than even the regular season. And while the Rams create turnovers, they're poor against the run -- our biggest strength offensively.

There's one blueprint for us to win this game. Dominate the ground game, control time of possession, and limit the Rams' scoring opportunities as best we can. Fail to do any of those three things, and it's difficult to imagine how we survive.

Yep. The question whose answer will decide the outcome is whether the Cowboys defense will stop them as well as Chicago's did and the Cowboys did the saints, or just slow them down to 21-27 points.

If the latter, the Offense has a heck of a job to score points as well. And to the point of this thread, while I think the Cowboys can slow the Rams to say, 24 points, I'm not sure I believe the Cowboys can score >17. As a fan of football and biased observer, I personally think that they can, but that doesn't mean I'd bet on it lol.

Patrick Crayton?

I take it back, I don't wish Crayton on anyone.

I'm joking by the way, I always liked Crayton as a 3rd or 4th receiver. I was at the 2004 training camp and remember picking him out to be someone who was going to make a splash, but he was miscast as a starter.

An odds maker’s job is to balance the money being bet so the house doesn’t have to pay anything out. The house collects the vigorish so it really doesn’t matter who wins the game because the house wins in the end.

I don’t get how they are coming up with the Rams being favored by 7.

The matchups favor us enough that even if you really liked the Rams I would think it would be no more then 3.5.

If we show up and run all over them then they don’t have a very good chance of beating us.

Also, how can they trust Goff against our pass rush?

People don't trust Dak, is that simple. The guy is too inconsistent throwing the football and people that gamble doesn't like that. If we establish the running game early we should be fine. If we have to rely on Dak it will be along day because as soon as he feels Donald or Suh breathing heavy he will create a sack of his own.

Apparently the Dallas backers love the +7 line, currently the early money is on the Cowboys 59% of the money is on the Cowboys to 41% on the Rams.

Lord, I heard this so many times in the early 90s. Every odds maker/sports media person was in love with the San Francisco 49ers. I used to joke that the 49ers were going for their 5th straight Super Bowl in a row by the time we got to Super Bowl #30.

Welp, that seals it, sell those flight tickets, and scalp your seats online, game over man.... sheesh, these SAME clowns pronounced this team dead @ week 8, and had NO chance to beat the Saints, and seahags were the shoe in...I don't believe in fairy tales or unicorns, let's go 60 mins and see who walks out winners. Plus, you guys all do know EVERY game they picked against us, we have WON!

I keep hearing this about the Rams. And I heard this re the Saints. And I heard we'd lose to the Seahawks.
Blimey, I like this underdog status and our show the world mentality.
