People still think the Eagles, in Dallas is a good thing. Even though that would mean the Eagles just beat the Bears and Saints on the road, two weeks in a row.

But somehow facing that team, who is a deep hated rival, is a “better matchup”.

And we would have beaten NO and Sea back to back weeks. I get the hesitation, but New Orleans is the better team. Philly may win, but New Orleans is better

The Saints have Thomas and 2 backs, the Egirls have 2 WRs, 2 TEs, an ok RB, and a QB who plays big in big game situations.

They also have the better OL

People keep making these threads and they never talk about how we match up. Who are we going to get more pressure/sacks on, Brees or Foles? In the past 3 years I haven't seen the Cowboys DL put as much pressure on Wentz as they did in one game against Brees. Plus we shut their run down easily.

Yes but the Cowboys would have homefield advantage at AT&T in the NFC title game against Philadelphia. Playing the Saints in the conference title game would mean traveling to the New Orleans Superdome.

Regardless of how good or bad the Eagles or Saints are, I'd rather the NFC title game be at home.

If we win, it would be nice to play the NFCCG at ATT, but if we lose, there is no reason to root for the Eagles.

I will never root for the Eagles. Something about the way they cheered when Michael Irvin was injured at the vet. Never forget!!! If we get a championship game in Dallas, that's cool, but no way any of us should be rooting for Philthy.

Nope. Only time I ever wanted them to win was the Superbowl, only due to inlaws being obnoxious Patriots fans.

I hope the Saints blow them out 48-7 again.

I don’t think the Eagles are the easier target for us. I have the ultimate respect for them, particularly with Foles as their QB. I would love to see the NFC Championship at home though, if both teams win this weekend. That would be epic!

I would rather walk into oncoming traffic than root for the Eagles.

Disgusting.

buddy...if the eagles beat the saints they are winning the superbowl. they would have beaten everyone at that point.

I dont think they beat Dallas if Dallas beats the rams. But I do agree if philly wins and Dallas loses, philly more than likely goes to the SB.

Imo the rams are easily one of those teams the eagles would beat. Imo the rams are not build to win the SB this year.

The rams are like the buff D-bag jersey boy that gets knocked out by the quiet kid with one punch.

I pray they find a way to knock off the saints. Simply because they are the easier Target for us.

Rooting for the eagles

Of course we have to root for them. Just simply because of home field advantage in the NFC Championship game.

We would host Eagles at ATT.
I understand that. But I think it is dangerous to do this. It implies that we can do this only if we get lucky. And I believe the mindset needs to be, that we will play and beat whoever, wherever.

Most teams do need a certain amount of luck in order to reach the Super Bowl or win it. As nice as it would be to believe that the Cowboys are good enough to beat anyone anywhere at will, and that the only thing that keeps the Cowboys from the Lombardi is the Cowboys themselves, that's simply not the case. Bear in mind that there are 7 other teams in the league who are still alive who could apply that same mindset to themselves by that logic - "we can win the Super Bowl if only we want it enough." There aren't any shabby teams left in the playoffs by this stage. Every team Dallas needs to beat, is a rock-solid, tough contender who hungers for the title as badly as us.

If they beat the Saints in N.O. they will be rolling. Very hard to beat a team 3 times in a year and they are the defending champions.

That's the most quoted, completely misleading bogus stat that the pundits like to bring up. It's not hard at all for a team to beat another for the 3rd time. I forget the percentage, but it's like 70% or 80% likely that a team that won the first 2 meetings will win the 3rd.

It's only "hard" when you are looking at the likelihood before they've played their first game of the year - it's much more likely that you won't sweep all 3. But they only mention that statistic after a team has won 2 and they are meeting again, so it's not really accurate at all.

Everyone has their preference.

If forced to choose, I'd rather see the Eagles win a 2nd Super Bowl than the Saints. I have a particularly intense dislike of New Orleans, almost matching my dislike of the Steelers.

What Cpanther just said above. This is one of the most common football myths that gets repeated over and over again. Usually, the team that won the first two meetings will win the 3rd.

It happened with Cowboys-Eagles in 2009. It happened with Steelers-Ravens in 2008 and Titans-Jaguars in 1999. Etc. etc.

I'm rooting for the Saints. Stupid Egals should of been done after leaving Dallas. But nooooo.....it's the 2nd round in the PLAYOFFS and we're still talking about them. Lose already. You're not going to repeat.

Screw that. If in the event we make it to the NFC Championship game & somehow end up LOSING, I'd be way less upset to lose to the Saints, than I would if it meant letting the Eagles advance to the Super Bowl. The sooner that team is Eliminated, the happier I'll be. Oh & neither team will be "Easier", because if they weren't good, they wouldn't be playing in the Divisional round right now, regardless of how they got here. Both teams worry me.
