The impact will be it solidifies Dak as the 3rd greatest cowboy QB after aikman and roger

Yep, if we win on saturday 17-13 he will automatically be better than Romo and White, well said.
Just to add, if he were to win the SB, he would also be better than Marino, Kelly, Fouts, Moon, Rivers and many more.
Go Dak, it`s all on you.

You misinterpreted what I said.

He’d be the 3rd best cowboy QB because he helped progress the franchise more than say...romo. Assuming he wins Sunday.

As it stands now 3 best cowboys QBs

Aikman
Roger
Danny White

Yup if Dak get this one. He moves ahead of Romo for a while. Unless ....

1. Win a SB
2. Many NFCC games

I won`t argue with you my friend, not into this Romo bashing of yours, but hey, more power to you.

And that's where the flaw would lie. Is Trent Dilfer better than Marino, Kelly, or Fouts. Nope.

Most of them stats are who cares stats and team stats though. The only one that isn't is the completion % and I still say he misses too many shots with that high completion %
But it’s the best Ever through 3 years

I’m just not understanding what some are not seeing or maybe it’s me and that’s why I’m asking questions.

@Dale said it perfectly right above your post:

“I guess, for me, this critique is rather selective in what we identify as "team stats." Is it a team stat when we win, when Dak records a game-winning drive, etc ... but not when we falter in the red zone or don't score as many points as needed?

It's all about the team. Every last bit of it. And I think that's what makes Dak a candidate to be the guy long-term. He plays the position well within that team dynamic.”

Tebow also had the highest completion percentage through his first three years.

Pretty sure Tebow was the first to break Brady’s record for no ints.

Good point!
And then people get mad when I say Tony Romo isn’t elite. Yet it’s fine to compare Dak to Tebow despite Dak having statistically one of the greatest 3 year starts for any QB ever.

We'd better get used to this type of QB because it's coming. A football player vs a QB. Dak's a football player that happens to play QB. He will make plays in the passing game, he won't take too many chances, but he'll help you move that ball right down the field, and get it into the end zone. That's what a QB is supposed to do. He'll take chances when he absolutely has to, and when all of the chips are on the table, he'll come out victorious. And do you want that, or do you want a high stats guy that can't seem to do it when the chips are on the table?
If he isn’t a real qb what does that make romo?

He had less touchdowns and far more interceptions and a much lower passer rating in his first 3 years of starting

I think if the defense misses tackles and gives up TDs that'll be a bigger problem than If Dak goes down
Not true at all. Defense was absolute trash his first year and just decent his second.

Yet Dak made this offense top 5 in both 2016 and top 10 in 2017

I am considering starting a CowboysZone Troll Of The ________ award thread in the Off-Topic Zone for a couple of months, where fellow members can vote for the most (PC) *enthusiastic* poster they feel has exceeded all imaginable annoying expectations. Should the (fill in the blank above) be:

  • Day?
  • Week?
  • Month?
Before anyone asks, my answer is: 1) No, I am not entirely committed towards creating and overseeing such a thread at this time/just curious how popular it might be; 2) No, I am NOT thinking of re-starting the CowboysZone Awards from yesteryear ; 3) No, it would not be an annual award (my attention span is not that long now/sue me); and 4) No, there will not be multiple choice voting for members who like to drink before casting their poll ballots (that means YOU @Ranching! :p )
