Remember when everyone wanted the Cowboys to get rid of Randy Gregory because he just wouldn't put down the joint? Well, he's been a big contributor for the Cowboys this season. I am not saying that Irving for sure is going to turn things around, but this FO isn't so quick to just toss someone to the curb, if they feel that player wants to better themselves.

LOL my man, I know you thought you had a fire point but man....
Gregory has drug, anxiety and bipolar issues. He needed proper meds but he showed up when allowed.

David Irving hates football. He doesn't love any part of it and can't be bothered to participate in anything but game days.
At this point he's likely getting high SO he can be suspended and not have to show up at the facility.
He reports late to camp, he fails to show up to the team facilities a few miles from his house, he goes cuckoo over the same silly bird every few months.
Weed is the least of is issues and the most hard to understand is he hates football.

DI caping is as dumb as RKelly caping.

Does it look like Irving is trying to "better himself"? I'm not seeing that.

As for the comparisons to Gregory, the league kept Gregory away from the team, by suspension. The only thing keeping Irving away from the team is Irving.

Many wanted Gregory cut
Now they love him
None of us know what is going on with Irving yet people scream cut him
It would be really dumb to cut him even if you don’t want him here because you’d loose any possible comp pick
Irving is a FA this year so we will see what happens with him. I will say if this is about his personal issue and not attitude then I wouldn’t be shocked if he is back

100 pct correct. Can't compare Gregory to Irving. Even in college Gregory was known to have issues but was an absolute monster on the field. Irving was flake then. He is a flake now. Guy is an enigma.

Too bad because he could have been great.

Does not change my feeling. I hope Gregory can continue to stay clean but my feelings are this has to stop, Dallas can't continue to invest in problem players who they can't count on that leaves them scrambling for replacement players who often are not as talented.

The proper methodology with Gregory was to forget about him them support him when he was back in the fold.
His contract and his team status allowed that to happen.

DI is about to be a free agent and we have gotten zero form a guy who could care less this team is on playoff run.
He's making a DECISION to avoid being around his teammates during a playoff run.

So like DI best advice is ignore him but no, he likely isn't back.

And no,. DI isn't signing for enough money to get any comp pick.
He should count toward our total however as player lost when he sings a make good deal in Cali somewhere.

Gregory's issues were more about the league thinking a hundred years behind the times than any real "problem" Gregory had.

The good 'ole authoritarian NFL....

Not 100% accurate.
Gregory has legit issues that go beyond weed use and hit at core of why he felt he "needed" to use.

I am 100% for legal and free use btw, but Gregory did have other issues and likely always will.
He is not the first bi-polar player this team has encountered and won't be the last.

It may be the case that Irving doesn’t have the motivation to play the game
My point is the team knows the issues, we know what’s been put out by the media
Once we actually know the entire story the narrative could be much different

What really makes me mad even with Gregory, is people sat here saying it was because of his anxiety disorder and that somehow weed was the only solution. Fact is he is clean and I seriously doubt they found a cure for his anxiety disorder and that there were other means to treat this so all those suspension could have and should have been avoided to begin with.

I didn't know you personally know Irving my man, that's awesome! Since you seem to be on the up and up with DI call him up and get his *** to the facility.

Exactly
It wasn’t just weed and even if it was just weed it still gets you suspended
Hopefully Gregory has put his demons behind him and can have a great career and a great life after football

More like dealing with a stupid player who could have gotten help besides using weed. He is clean now isn't he so what happened a magic cure? or is he now taking something that will help him and allow him to play within the rules of the NFL?

What makes me mad is when busy bodies worry about what someone else does with their time, body when it's not harming them or others (and may even be helping)..and when people who don't have true knowledge of what it's like for someone, acts like they do.

I guess Irving is getting paid playoff money since he is on the roster and not suspended. So, why would he show up?
