Garrett is a good enough coach to keep a job, but his history shows that he's not good enough to get us to the big game.

I think this game shows how an offense needs to be both talented AND creative for a team to be elite. Despite us having some really good players over the years, we are always going to be held back by Garrett's belief that we don't have to outsmart the other team.

We have to have an elite defense in order to get over the hump with Garrett, and the Rams are showing what good coaching can do against a very good defense.
We have an elite defense? I think you missed this game were our defense was made to look like a swiss cheese. We are still no closer to sniffing an NFCC. Blow this coaching staff up.

You get what you pay for.

If Jerry has decided that mediocrity is okay with him, back the Brinks truck up and pay Garrett whatever he wants.

I didn't say that. I said we have to have an elite defense with Garrett as coach because we are not going to have an elite offense under him. We cannot win without an elite defense with Garrett's offensive philosophy that we simply have to outexecute the other team.

Our defense was very good this season, but what it ran into was a well-run offense that kept it off balance and just whipped us. This is the offense we will never have with Garrett as coach.

If we retain him,, which I'm sure we will, then IMO we need to try to make this defense as great as it can be because we are not going to be able to out-offense teams.

Of course. Jerry would rather be comfortable than actually try to win with a quality HC with real power and authority. Wasted the last 12 years with crappy coaches like Wade and Garrett. Then we act surprised when we have an early exit the few times we actually make the playoffs.

Now we'll get at least 3+ more years of Garrett and the same ol same ol. This all rests on Jerry.

Please DO NOT extend The Clapper. 22 consecutive seasons of mediocrity and REDBALL is guaranteed 9-7 seasons

The only article I’ve read attributed this to Ian Rappaport, who seems to be making a whole bunch of stupid statements as of late. And it seems to be just opinion, including his Kris Richards assertion being DC. I mean it’s not hard to make that guess when Kris didn’t get a single head coaching position he interviewed for.

Is there any other source reporting that, or just Ian?

All I know is JG is responsible for the entire game plan being HC and that he SUCKS - has sucked since he was hired in 2007 and wormed his way to HC - and should be fired yesterday. If it weren't for Romo's ability to coach the team from the line of scrimmage JG would've been gone a long time ago,

Amazing that you can perform at such a low level as a NFL Head Coach and still get resigned year after year. Garrett has accomplished squat as HC tenure in Dallas and this is his reward..PATHETIC.
