Any reason to believe Dak era will surpass Romo era?

I would say zero chance of that. 5-11...maybe. Who knows and who cares at this point.

Luckily, Dak will never play with the 32nd ranked defense, Felix Jones as his lead back, or a delapitated oline.
The team still can use more help, but it is young and talented on both sides of the ball.
I like our chances to possibly advance further as a team where Dak happens to be the QB

Those Felix Jones teams were running back by committee with Marion Barber.

Didn’t say it was. It’s just my opinion. Dak fails to take advantage of many the opportunities that present themselves during a game and Garrett is easily outcoached with his simplistic, outdated, and predictable scheme and playcalling tendencies. There simply will be better QBs and HCs in their way whenever they make the playoffs and I don’t see them ever overcoming them unless both make significant changes and improvements.
Dak fails to take advantage of opportunities lol? That’s a new criticism.

Thats a reasonable assessment which would support or at least question why we’re so attached to Dak.

I can’t help but ponder with this roster what it might be with a top 10 QB.

Yeah I judge Dak based on how well he can play with incompetent coaching and a outdated playbook that doesn’t take advantage of his strengths. Imagine a playbook that did?
How was Daks college coaching and passing?

I did say 2010-2013. Barber was completely shot by then. Especially 2010-2012 were truly awful backfields. Some of the worst in Cowboys history. Then again, the line was also historically bad, so its kind of not fair to beat up on them too much.

Murray came along and was solid in 2013, and things got better. 2014 was great obviously, even if the D was lacking.
Now a few years later, we have good, young talent on both sides of the ball.
Im fairly optimistic

Those are 2 years. What about the other years? Romo had some solid offenses and blocking more years than not. The best offensive line we’ve had in the past 20 years was that 2014 season.

He's got a good start. 3 seasons as starter, 2 Playoff appearances & a Playoff win. Sadly, this franchise still has the same problem & that's advancing any further than that for whatever reason. It's almost like there was a curse placed on us, after humbling pretty much everyone in the NFL for those 4 years in the 90s. I don't buy in with the "accident waiting to happen" business but it does seem like we always have bad luck, at the worst possible time. Not really concerned if Dak's era could surpass Romo's but that we need a return to the Era where we win Super Bowls, regardless of WHO is the QB.

You havent been reading my posts.
This isnt a Romo excuse post for 2007, etc...this was saying that after 3 (for Dak) or 3 1/2 (for Romo) years starting, the franchise and Dak are better positioned going forward (2019 and beyond) now than they were back in 2010

That was what the entire thread was asking, so I replied.

My posts are saying that I like our chances.

I don't care how either just was saying yalls chosen one won't be the reason why dang near for sure why they get there.
And that’s fine. I don’t care if it’s the “chose one” or the punter. I just want to win. Our last chosen one couldn’t do it so let’s see what a more durable chosen one can do.

If this dysfunctional organization couldn’t build a good enough team around Romo why do we believe they will around Dak?

They have started almost identically. In Romo's first 3 full seasons as the starter, the team was 23-15, made the playoffs in years 1 and 3 and lost in the division round both times. In Dak's first 3 seasons, the team was 22-16, also made the playoffs in years 1 and 3, and also lost in the division round both times. I think Dak has a strong chance to get to the playoffs more often though, both because he is younger, and because the team is at least somewhat more aware of how to draft and more aware of how to live within the salary cap, but whether they can actually get beyond the division round remains to be seen.

I think you do care going by your post touting Dak up but you say you don't. Don't care about any last chosen one that's yalls twist I'm only talking current team only.

No it’s not. It’s criticism #1 for most. It encompasses his inaccurate throws to wide open WRs, his lack of vision to find open WRs, and his deficiencies in the red zone.
