So your point about Romo having Parcells means nothing
Nope he was groomed with parcels and Sean Payton. If you can’t see that’s an advantage I don’t know what to tell you.

I’m just saying a more prolific QB would compliment our offense . Why so many are content with this one is unclear.

And Luck and the Colts ran up GInst a greater force in Mahommes.

Would you be interested in either of those two QB?
Mahomes not really a Luck fan. He seems to choke. The cowboys had a prolific passer and couldn’t get it done so fans want the same thing lol. Let’s get a top notch D first and go from there.

There is a lot of reason to believe, Romo was a gambler that wanted to be a great passer first and foremost and he was. Dak is a great football player and wants to be a winner first and foremost and he is .

Dak has matured before our very eyes as this season unfolded and will continue to do so .

Dak will win by attrition , he will out last the dysfunction of Jerry which Romos health would not let him do .

This franchise is still no day at the beach but we have improved and are less dysfunctional . Everyday Dak gets Stronger , better and more skilled while Jerry gets older and has less influence .
Another good draft not influenced by Jerry and a couple key FA acquisitions along with the maturation of Dak , Gallup our young LBs and secondary . All before we have to pay everyone gives us a very good chance to go farther than Romo ever took us

I guess your argument is you’d rather have a less prolific QB? Lol

Dak will go down to injury too with flips like we needed against Seattle to prolong the season. Tick tock...

Dak is a bottom tier passing QB benefiting from elite surrounding talent. We’ve seen what he is when that’s taken away.

If this dysfunctional organization couldn’t build a good enough team around Romo why do we believe they will around Dak?

We had good enough teams around Romo but he wasn't always good enough when it mattered most as well as other parts of the team. Romo had teams good enough to win 13 games in 2007 and 12 games in 2014. His 2007 team was good enough to beat the Giants twice but wasn't good enough to beat them when it mattered most. We had a defense this season that was good enough but it wasn't good enough against the Rams. Had our defense played like it did against the Saints a few weeks earlier the Cowboys would have beat the Rams. Our offense only had 8 possessions because we couldn't get the Rams offense off the field. You can have the most talented team ever but playoff games come down to players stepping up and executing. We've had good enough teams but not good enough coaching.

Yet Dak is well ahead at this point in their careers.

I agree with much. We blew our best opportunity in 2007 much like we did in 2016.

Our defense as much as it was dominated against the Rams kept us within distance in 4th qtr with an offense which only converted 1 out 10 3rd downs.

A one dimensional offensive attack is putrid. It will win against average teams but not prolific offenses and QB’s.

One great performance on a Thursday nite does NOT define a season. I’d like to hear arguments that this Cowboy team was a Final 4 team .

I’m not infatuated with QBs like you. I’d rather have a complete team that can win despite the QB.
Lol ok

If that’s the case then why do we need a QB like Dak if we can win despite him?

Sounds like you might be a little infatuated with #4 which is fine as long as it’s presented as such.

But yes. I am infatuated with prolific QB’s who elevate those around him instead of needing more talent around them. It’s why franchises give up so much on draft day.

There’s the teams with elite QB’s and there’s the rest. Take a look at the Final 4 this year.

I think Dak would benefit greatly from an OC whose not hellbent on making him into a pure pocket passer. I at least want to him work with someone other than Linehan before dismissing his chances.

I agree, but Garrett believes in "we do what we do" and "next man up". Will the next OC get to set the scheme? Did Linehan?

Linehan may be a fall guy for a coaching philosophy set from above, particularly with regard to letting Dak run.

Well ahead of what ? A more prolific passer ?

Quarterbacking isn't just about passing, but no he isn't, as a leader, and being that he started his first season and had success, is well ahead of where Tony was in his 3 season.

So, you fell in love with him because of his Rookie season winning streak. Well, join the club. Lol

That is more outlier than reality though. I rather the more realistic way.
Like the eagles did last year?

Like the 2016 Cowboys?

Like the Seahawks in SB 48?

Like the Steelers in SB 43?

Like the Broncos in SB 50?
