You would have to make Lincoln Riley the head coach in order for him to leave Oklahoma.
I dont think so. I think being the OC for America's Team and in the spotlight would be enough to pry him out of there. Now he would probably want a HC title in a year or 2. Which by then hopefully Jerry is willing to give.

Compared to Linehan and Moore?

Yes.

He's a defensive coach first of all.

He played in a conference that was a 2 team race every year because OU has far more talent then all of those other teams besides Texas.

His defenses were horrrrrrrible.

He was constantly outcoached whenever he faced a team with equal or better talent.

Bob Stoops was a good coach 2 decades ago.

No chance at all.

He would have to take a pay cut and walk away from one of the best jobs in college football.

If you want Lincoln Riley then you have to end this Garrett nonsense and hire him as the head guy.

He is not leaving his Oklahoma head coaching gig to be a NFL coordinator. Sorry I just do not see that happening.

I wish you were right, but down here in Texas we know that's not gonna happen. Oklahoma football and big 12 football is HUGE and it also pays HUGE.

I’m not sure why this is so hard for some fans to understand?

At any major blue blood universities, the Head Football Coach is treated like a god!

They are paid very well, have near autonomy, and as long as they win, pretty much have the job for as long as they want.

For some fans to think that any HC would leave their sweet gig (again, blue bloods) to be our OC blows my mind.

Now, if Jerry were to offer a Head Coaching job, that would change things.

People love to hate on the young QB. Get Dak a new OC and watch him work.

Agree...he struggles at times but isn't half as bad as most of the dolts on this board make him out to be. Risen is especially ridiculous in his criticism. The guy is a 4th round pick for crissakes. No one ever claimed he's Elway or Aikman.
