I’d resign Beasley before I resign Jones. Jones is overrated. He was garbage this postseason and the game against Green Bay
Well, that and bease is a fa this year and Jones has an exercised option for next year already at 6m ;)

I would let Bease walk and then draft Renfrow if you want a replacement.

Oh, without Beasley, the receiver group would definitely need to evolve. Maybe a second round pick?
I think that's too high. I see dt, SS and te as higher needs personally

Would you retain Austin for fill for the 'departing' Beasley?
For the right price. He's injured often so I don't think his value will be huge. A perfect pr/wr4 Imo. Hurns is wr3 or cut him and save 5m to sign bease if not too rich

Those are the tough ones because you just don't know what other teams will value them at.
I like Cole Beasley but he apparently wants 10m a year .. umm no. not at his age. Maybe 6-7M.
Damien Wilson is a very viably LB and we may lose Sean Lee to coaching or a starting role elsewhere but if he some 5-7M a year guy?
I don't think so.

Fleming I'd love to have back at the same kind of money. 2.5-3M per.
Martin, Reid, Datone all the same boat. At comparable money I love them as depth and roster guys.

Toughest one may be Swaim.
He's due a raise but how large? 18 Tight Ends make 4.7M or more... gross!!!
To me he may have to move on to find that cash.

Fleming isn't great but he is more valuable to the team than Cole Beasley under the circumstances.

We have guys like Beasley, Wilson and a few others who I am sure we would like to keep around, but at what price? I'm not just talking about cap implications.

If you let them walk they leave a hole that you have to fill. If you resign them you get a limited player that may prevent you from making the next step.

What direction do you think we will go/should go?

Beasley walks. He's move valuable elsewhere. And they tried to extend him before the season and they couldn't get it done.

He should be gone. He's not a good fit for what we do. Should be on a pass first team.

Beasley will be lucky to get 7 mil at his age, and certainly shouldn't get that with us, where he's not a good fit. He should find some pass first offense that needs a starting full trim slot receiver.

I don’t know what our next offense will be. We didn’t have anything for Tavon when he came back.

Regardless of their asking price? I would be happy to have both back if the price was right.

Wilson is pretty much a special teams guy for us, and of course, if he wants mid-level special teams money then great sign him up.

Beasley has no explosion to his game, and if you want a guy who is going to play 70% + of your offensive plays when healthy to only get 3-5 TD's then great, but me personally I don't see a huge must need in him. We can find that in the draft for a fraction of the price with more upside in the mid to late round IMO.

Only one I re-sign is Fleming.

Don't really care about anyone else.

We also have Joe Thomas, who looked great in preseseason but was forgotten when LVE broke out.

Also people are assuming Sean Lee is gone but LVE can play SAM and it wouldn't be hard to replace Wilson's snaps by putting Jaylon, Lee and LVE on the field together. If we can get a 4th or 5th round comp pick for Wilson - run don't walk and grab it.

Sean Lee is due for too much money, and unless he is willing to take a huge paycut he is gone.

IMO this team is going to move on as they did with Demarcus Ware, and Dez Bryant.

By "regardless of asking price" I didn't mean he should be treated as a "huge must need". With Beasley, while he may not be explosive, he does move the chains, and he is very difficult to cover from the slot, so he has a skill set that lends itself well to the kind of role he plays. We aren't going to have explosive guys across the board, and every team needs players who can fill a role and add something different. For me, I would love to have Beasley back, but if his asking price is too steep then we will have to move on. As for saying we can find what he does in the mid to late rounds, the key word is "can" - that it's possible. But if it were as easy as that the Cowboys wouldn't have to worry about another team offering Beasley a contract above what they feel they can pay. But it's not that easy, and certainly it's not that assured, and the reality is Beasley ability to play in the NFL is certain and proven, whereas not even high draft picks are guaranteed, much less mid to late round picks.

He may be lucky to get it, but don't be surprised if he receives substantially more than that. I don't know what he is "worth" quite frankly. His production has been minimal but that is largely a function of lack of use, rather than inability to get open.

Sean Lee's level of play was so bad, if he can't play better than that, I don't want him back at the veteran minimum. He was that bad. I have never seen a guy's level of play fall that far that fast.
