This board is ridiculous when it comes to blame in general.

Bad FO decision= old crazy Jerry again
Good FO decision= Stephen or McClay is a
genius

Dak’s issues being blamed on Kellen Moore

Coaching issues switched from Garrett’s scheme to its all Linehan’s fault

Everything was Marinelli’s fault and Richard did everything that went well

It will really never end either
Left out how awesome Zeke is but when he doesn’t do well it’s the O lines fault.

Everything is JG’s fault but Jerry made it clear he makes all the personnel decisions.

I don’t know same reason Romo got credit when he won a game and everyone but Romo and Jerry’s glass cleaner boy got blamed when they lost.

If I'm not mistaken in Daks rookie season Elliott led the league in yards before contact and we know he's always amongst the top in yards after contact. If I'm giving any credit at all for that season it goes to the offensive line and Elliott for consistently staying ahead of the chains.

Dallas Cowboys 2015 - 5th in the NFL at 4.6 yards per rush...
Dallas Cowboys 2016 - 3rd in the NFL at 4.8 yards per rush...

Dallas Cowboys QB rating 2015 - 78.8
Dallas Cowboys QB rating 2016 - 100.0+

Keep talking about what turned Dallas around was Zeke tho...I am sure those 0.2 yards per rush is what turned Dallas from picking in the top 5 of the Draft...to the No. 1 seed in the NFC...and not the nearly 25 point increase in QB play.

I'm not one that puts Romo on pedestal and has all of these "if only Romo had this defense" thoughts, but I think he was extremely helpful to Dak that year. I remember shots of him coaching Dak up between series.

I think Romo was the OC that year.

So where was Romo in 2015 when, according to this board, he wasn't "coaching the worst QB in the NFL"? If we are blaming 2016 on Romo, praytell, why aren't we blaming 2015 on him when he had "better QBs" to "coach" up?

Was his earpiece not working in 2015?

there was an interview where it was stated that romo created the scheme and installed it every week for dak that year. i need to find it. i believe it was a receiver who made the statement.

Was Romo's pen broken in 2015? Why did Dallas QBs - with a top 5 running attack - collectively have a bottom 5 efficiency numbers/stats that year?

Did Romo misplace his whiteboard so he couldn't "create schemes and install it every week" in 2015?

So was Romo's mouth stapled shut in 2015? Why wasn't he telling the 2015 QBs what to do?

DUH DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR QUESTION ?

2015 QB'S Matt Cassel - Brandon Weeden - Kellen Moore

well maybe those QB's could not do what Dak can do ?

or maybe the o line was significantly better than 2015 and 2016 and we had a formula the league hadn't had time to adjust to just yet. If we had amari since the beginning of the year, our record wouldn't have had been that far off of 2016

I wish someone could say exactly how many formations we ran and passed out of and how that made it easy to guess whether we were running or passing.

Those are reasons enough.

I won’t mention the 4th down call running at the best defensive player in the league.

Does it make any sense to anyone that everyone credits Dak for his own rookie year, but Linehan doesn't get the same pass? Dak has been average at best since then, but escapes all the blame.

I'll never figure that out, just like I won't be able to figure out how Garrett manages to go through coordinators and still stay without any real success... He is lucky that no team in our division has maintained a dominant roster during his tenure.

If we were in the AFC East, AFC North, NFC North, NFC West we would have been a laughing stock.
Is this a serious thread?
Dak escapes the blame?
Please name me a QB in the NFL who has been more criticized than Dak Prescott in the last 2 years.

I love how to point to success as a QB you are talking about team success rather than individual contribution.
So wins and losses don’t matter now. Stats don’t matter either then I guess. 4th qt game winning drives don’t matter?
So go ahead and strip away any measurable way of evaluating a player to fit your agenda.
What measurables would matter to you?

I already know the answer.

Credit for what? You have to remember that Zeke was able to run and give Dak very manageable 3rd downs. Beasley was running around uncovered inside of 5 yards. The coverage was playing back and defenses were not stacking the box. This genius plan of garrett and linehan was for Dak to dink and dunk his way while Zeke was gashing defenses.
You have to remember that in todays passing league good top 10 QBs pass for 4000+ yards. Case Keenum had more yards than Dak this year. People say but Dak gets yards and TDs running the ball. That just tells me he is making up for his impotent arm.

You don't win in this league like this. This weird thing you folks think that if we just start putting in the playbook to "run more", that will answer all our problems

1. You have no idea if Dak is being told not to run
2. Most "runs" in the NFL aren't designed, it's the QB having the awareness in a situational spot to know when to take off

This isn't college football.

Dak knew when to take off and run and he proved that in 2016. He ran the ball a lot more in 2016 than he does now.
When Romo was started at QB he was an excellent passer when scrambling out of the pocket, but Garrett wanted a pure pocket passer and he tied a ball and chain around Romo's ankle.
When Dak got here, similarly Dak has always thrown the ball well on the run, but Garrett still wants that pure pocket passer and it's been quite obvious IMO that Garrett is once again stopping his QB from running or scrambling out of the pocket unless absolutely necessary.
I'm sure one of Garrett's reasons would be to try and prevent injury since we have no viable backup.

Be that as it may, Dak is a dangerous weapon on the run and he's proven that in the past. Garrett is the one restricting that, regardless of his reason.
I also think restricting that run has hurt Dak's game.

The real credit should have went to Wade Wilson. Fire Kellen Moore because he's the one that sucks.

This is easy... vanillahan did SQUAT to adjust his offensive scheme once teams had film on us and Dak. He just returned to the tired ole play book he used with Romo, which and I am not knocking Dak here, but Dak is not Tony and most likely never will be. But you simply can't toss all lettuce in a bowl and call it a salad...

Vanillahan! Very fitting handle! LOL but Garrett is just as vanilla as Linehan, yet Garrett stays and Vanillahan gets the axe. Needed to dump them both. Vanillahan is just a scapegoat for Garrett. Working for Garrett is just as bad as working for Jerry because Garrett always finds a scapegoat to take the blame.

...All in all, I'm just not a Linehan fan...I hope for a change next season...at least at the OC position...
actually JG can follow Linehan off the bus.

That's worth 2 likes, 1 for Vanillahan and another for JG following him OFF the bus. ;)
