Whatever went on between Linehan and Dooley and Pollack
There were a few instances on All or Nothing where Pollack and Dooley were the most vocal coaches in meetings, In one scene, Garrett even stopped them and said something like "Moving on"

That’s show was kool but it almost looked like JG was acting. Hearing him cuss in meetings just didn’t sound right coming out of his mouth. Lol.

Apparently, Garrett cusses a lot. I've been told that by people who work for the Cowboys and a few former players.

Not that I have an issue with that at all. I was in the military and curse words were issued to us on day one of boot camp as required nouns, verbs, and adjectives. In many of the coaching books I've read and even in graduate school, many people believe cursing is a sign of poor or inferior leadership. I don't agree at all. They're just words.

Not to question the board but I think it's overblown here. You can say mean, hurtful things that are non-curse words. The past five years I've worked with an assistant coach who is heavily involved in the church and makes a big deal about other coaches or players swearing. Yet, he always wants to fight opposing coaches and he has said some of the most hurtful things to opposing players and our players I have ever heard. I've told him numerous times I'd rather get cursed out then to hear some of the things he has said to young men. It's all about sentiment and how words are used IMO.

Yep. I remember that. And then Fisher reporting there was a power struggle internally among the offensive coaches.

They replaced the OL, WR, and QB coaches in one swoop. Plus all the stuff with Dez and Frederick and Lee that went down, whatever it was.

Then they replace the OC a year later. With conflicting reports about where Garrett stood with both Dez and Linehan.

We also had stories about both Hurns and Cooper with some level of frustration about the routes.

Something went down. We’re just not hearing the details.

Maybe we get something when Beasley signs elsewhere.

Last off-season Jason Garrett attempted to move on from Linehan and Jerry not only denied that request but increased Linehan responsibility & power. Also, Garrett was more involved with play calling duties late in year and if Dallas doesn't get OC they want....Garrett will call plays in 2019.

I told you people before that Jerry hires and fires the top Assistant coaches, and Garrett gets to choose the lower assistants

This is just smoke to create dysfunction or rather the image of dysfunction

There's no image of dysfunction.

It became apparent the Cowboys were a dysfunctional organization the day Jerry forced a two-time defending SB champion head coach out the door and replaced him with Barry bleepin' Switzer.

Because he thought he was. He wanted him gone last year and it didn’t happen. He probably thought the same would happen this year.

Don't believe anything Dallas puts out to the media. Jerry and Stephen must really laugh at confusing the fans, i.e., fans will believe anything. Example is how they handled the Dez Bryant situation.

so let me get this straight,

there were 5 threads or more o the subject of Garett's puppet and wanted Linehan but Jerry let him go, countermand ie dysfunction.. all the know it alls argues for days making false statements and now its a fact Garrett wanted Linehan gone and Jerry finally gives in..now we have these same folks arguing the opposite sure and filling in the other side of the graph..

hers fact regardless of any media release, statements, and rumor.. not one of you or them knows the whole truth..arguing for days on one side and when the narrative changes you argue the other side and for what?? useless brain cells wasted

Garett wanted to fire Linhehan at 3-5 gave him reprieve, we did win the division and made it to the 2nd round..Garett also made at the time was a true statement they weren't making significant changes at the moment, all that meant was they havent made any decsions given how short a time passed when media barraged them with questions..

decsions was made Linehan's gone, be happy..

OH wait you aren't we are now assuming, guessing, throwing darts on 17 other threads on who the OC might or might not be and how unhappy most will be on who they choose..right, just waiting to be right or wrong so you have more to complain about..

Just like draft picks and FAs you whine and declare ar busts that actually turn out just fine you waste space complaining , how about regardless sof what happens we take waiot and see attitude no matter who the new OC and playcallers are and just roll with it..yes even if its Redball or worse Moore calling the plays..at this point any change and new fresh pair of eyes and voice game day will be better..

who cares if you dont like it are you going to delete your account and root for another team, burn your jerseys and never watch another game?

this site has become 80% gripefest and 20% fans discussing real football..very odd you call yourselves fans

It looks like Ed Werner gets his leaks from Garrett. Garrett and Stephen Jones will backstab anybody.

Linehan was brought in by Garrett himself when Jerry demoted him from play-calling, because Jason sucked. Jerry did this as a compromise with Jason so as not to change the play-book.

Wrong.

Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that the Jason Garrett considered making a change at offensive coordinator before the season even started, but decided to give Linehan a chance with some of the changes he wanted to make to the receiving room, offensive line coach, and a few other tweaks. Those tweaks have failed, and Rapoport reported that Garrett even considered moving on from Linehan over the bye week, but instead decided to make the move for a wide receiver, and change at offensive line coach.

It was Garrett’s call. Jerry didnt force him to do anything.

This whole idea Garrett was involved more in playcalling by the end of the year is wildly comical and is all based on the Giants game.

If he was involved, the blueprint of his ‘success’ was the awful display with the Colts and Tampa Bay.

The Giants game isn’t a benchmark of anything. Zeke wasn’t playing and it’s clear that Dallas was just using this as an opportunity to ‘develop Dak’, which is why they didn’t bench him at all after the first half. That game was just to give him reps throwing the ball.

Because he thought he was. He wanted him gone last year and it didn’t happen. He probably thought the same would happen this year.

So your saying that Garrett simply gave up because he didn't get what he wanted last year? Figured he wouldn't get it again?

And you think this paints Garrett in a good light? That confirms that he is nothing but a puppet. A puppet that has given up and doesn't even bother to keep pushing to make the team better.

If this is fact, could it be that the on the job training isn't going so well? Management and the HC are all enrolled in some kind of half-assed learn as you go situation and has Garrett reached that point where he thinks he can influence Booger's thinking? Or worse, anticipate it?

If this is really true, then my assumption of why Garrett is there is wrong. He is not there because of Booger but as a favor to Son and the family. He knows his place and to stay out of the way and be silent when Booger runs his mouth.

Does this really make sense to anyone? Garrett tries to fire him and Booger gives him more responsibility, Garrett takes back some of the play calling late in the season and goes on the radio two days after the season ends stating that the OC will be back, crawfishes on that and the guy is fired on Friday.

Is anyone even attempting to connect the dots on this crazy crap or has Cowboys news become so necessary that they'll just put anything out there.

The only thing that makes sense is Booger not agreeing to fire him because he doesn't like paying coaches not to coach. Don't think just because he's rich that $ wasn't a consideration.

Scott Linehan, you are lucky to be out of this cluster. I cannot imagine the restraint it took to remain silent around these morons.

Garrett is making this stuff up. Who was on the hot seat? Really?

Remember, Garrett was the guy on the hot-seat early in the season, nobody else. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reports he tried to get Witten to return weren’t true.

Then his buddy Stephen went out and got Amari Cooper and Cooper was connected to Linehan, via Lal and Nussmeier. Linehan also started getting Jarwin more involved in the offense.

This organization is a joke.
