Lol, I know right?! Because comparing recent success to something that happened over a decade ago is just absurd. Like, wow....what a dumb forum.

You want to look back at just eight seasons because it would supposedly be comparing “recent success?”

Apparently, the delta of relevancy between comparing 8 years to 9 years is drastic to you, lol. Garrett’s been coaching since 2010 (half season) and full time since 2011.

Yeah, so your three-card Monte approach to analysis does provide comedy relief on forum as you can see.

What is the point of comparing two coaches that have different starting points to their careers arbitrarily at the starting part of the less experienced coach? If anything, it would only make sense to look at both coaches “first five...first nine years...”

He's had Drew Brees his entire head coaching career. Brees already had 58 starts under his belt when he signed with New Orleans.

So this "great coach" never had to break in a rookie QB, has had the benefit of a future hall of famer at the position, and still has managed five seasons of .500 or worse and only 1 SB. If your (not the OP) only response is "he's better than JG" that's not much of a response.

He won a SB.

That trumps anything Garrett has done. Ever.

No one is saying Payton is Belichick here. But trying to argue Garrett is the same or better is insane.

If Garrett had a Super bowl on his resume I don't think many would be complaining as much
They would. They just hate Garrett. In their book if he wins one they would say he should uave won 5 with the roster we had but none. An explain why they say that.

Complete BS.

What’s funny is if he did have a Super Bowl with the Cowboys I wonder how many on this thread would be “OK” with not including it in some comparative analysis with another coach?

Like I said....this forum

What is this anyway? First we got people trying to sell us on Kellen Moore and now Jason Garrett. It's like there is a troll gas leak here.

No. Just never underestimate how far some people will go to delude themselves into thinking that yes, this organization is really squared away.

The only other teams to have our special brand of futility for this extended period of time are the Commanders and the Lions.

But hey, let's compare Garrett to Sean Payton. That sounds smart.

98% of 90's fans would not stoop to such low standards and expectations for their coaching staff. This franchise has fallen, and now all the old timers have left, is to listen to this newer generation praise the pussification of this team because it's all they know.

he helped turn drew into a hall of famer. And won a Super Bowl with Brees and Reggie Bush.

Imagine what he could do with far superior natural talents Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot?

Dak and Zeke alone made our offense ranked top 5 in 2016 and top 3 1st half of 2017.

Your eyes must be deceiving you. I have it on good authority from this board that he is no better than Garrett.

Hey guys, I wanna compare Amari Cooper to Jerry Rice, but I only want to look at their last 8 games played.

He must love Hill cause he keeps putting ball in his hands and taking it out off Brees

Talk about reviving an obscure comment in a trivial game thread. Lol. Yes. His route running ability reminds me more of Jerry Rice, and no that's not a direct comparison. Sue me.

Imagine going 7-9 3 straight years with our fan base.

But yes—he would be a nice coach to have. Statistically speaking, he would have tough odds to get a ring here considering no coach has ever won a SB as head coach for two teams.
