How does a what happened qualify as “... aclub action, non-participant interference, or calamity....”?

It was a bad call, not cheating, not players being bribed, not a natural disaster, or any other influence outside the scope of what happens in the natural course of all NFL games.

On top of that, to declare NO the winner would (1) require the assumption that a goal line stands by the Rams was impossible, and (2) open up a flood of complaints past, present and future that the league doesn’t do the same with all bad calls.
It sure looked like cheating. Like it was allowed to happen. For a preordained result.

"Rule 17, Section 2, Article 3: “The Commissioner’s powers under this Section 2 include . . . the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred.”

Basically, the Commissioner has the power to turn back time to the spot of the penalty that wasn’t called, put the teams back on the field from that point in the game, give the Saints first and goal at the spot of the foul, put 1:49 on the clock, and let the game proceed, tied at 20, with the Rams having one time out left."

That isn't going to happen over one non call. Especially when the Saints had every chance to win it after that play.

Yes, but, if there's a really egregious call screaming of shenanigans by the NFL......is it possible for the team that lost to the Rams to be able to play the Saints instead because of shenanigans by the NFL?

Like explain to me why I can not worry about this.

It should be over on the Saints board.

Remember Zeke and his suspension?

Goodell does whatever he wants on behalf of the owners.

No revisionist stuff allowed.

Agreed that was beyond the pale. But then if you never stop the fixing of the sport, then you have no basis the next time for arguing a valid point. You rubber stamp corruption.

waste of a thread. WONT HAPPEN.
but it should, not fair to the league the rams got free pass to the SB, they may not do this in the RS but in the playoffs where its one and done this is why rule like this is put in..you want refs to get better, you do this few times and RG will make sure they get better..

The precedent of allowing the blatantly obvious "fixing" of a game, is the one that "should" cause chaos, in a society that has any integrity.
If it was fixed them there will be a money trail somewhere. If somebody finds it I will acknowledge it, until then it's all just venting.
Was it a bad call. Hell yeah. They happen all the time sadly. Not at that importance level but all the time nonetheless.
I'm not going to get into the societal integrity because it will lead down a non football path...

Ok. How many games has he been an official of for the falcons beats or rams, what were the results of those games. Is there a pattern of his old teams winning a high % of those?

I have no clue, but I guarantee if that were the Cowboys and a call like that was made and come to find out a ref was not only a former player of the team we were playing, but also a former Eagles player, peoples' heads would be exploding too.

I could care less.
Some owners or Coaches always want a rule change when things don't go in their favor.
Its not that the Saints haven't been without issues,
remember Peyton sidelined for awhile?
So some want a rematch on the 27th!
And then what, what about a no call on the Saints? a rematch a day before S.B?
Don't fell sorry
We have been shafted many times also,

LOL

What if the Saints had 1st and goal and were taking a knee. On 4th down they attempt a FG and the defender rushes offsides, leaps on top of every lineman, dives at the holder, steals the ball and runs with it for a TD. Game over, who cares how many penalties he committed or whether or not it was clear as day?

If the officials miss all of those obvious penalties, they should lose their jobs.
