If he actually has made a decision he will wait a couple days for the past weekends games to get off the front pages
Then he will try to dominate the news
Jerry is a marketer and he will time it around getting the most coverage

People say these kinds of things all the time, and it never happens the way they think. And really, the naming of an OC isn’t a major marketing opportunity. It won’t sell jerseys, or tickets or get a bigger TV contract.

Be more interested in hearing what Will McClay thinks about Moore rather than the dollar store Jones' pr blitz

But it gets you premium coverage
Jerry does understand those things
He may not be the best GM but he’s very good at marketing his product

You guys need to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Next year will be the last year of Jason Garrett if things go south, I can deal with Kellen Moore for 1 season as long a Garrett is forever gone.

I'm actually OK with their decision. Whatever Moore does, it can't be any worse or predictable than the Garrett/Linehan Air Coryell outfit we've become accustomed to. Everyone keeps touting Moore as some young coaching phenom, well let's see it.

Unless he does some blockbuster thing like hire Lincoln Riley away from OU (won’t happen), “premium coverage” means next to nothing. An ordinary OC hire is barely a blip on the radar, and outside Dallas media and message boards like this, any attention to it will disappear quickly, and there will be no lingering PR benefit. If he makes some big splash, surprise hire, your scenario makes sense, but otherwise I think it will be a fairly mundane event.

What about the rest of the "in house"? They werent a part of the game planning? Lol
Not necessarily. They work at the direction of the OC, and, of course, the OC is the one who makes the decisions. All of us that have ever worked for someone else knows that the boss doesn’t always do things the way they would, but the boss makes the decisions, so his way is how it goes.

FWIW Reports were Jason, Doug, and Dak had fingerprints on game scripts and that Linehans role diminished.

Regardless theres no way to simply put it all on Linehans lap. If thats the case, what exactly is Jasons role? Clapper?
