Didn't know that. I'll have to listen to some of his work.

I'm fully aware that it wasn't his song to begin with, but Marriott's rendition of You Need Loving was mimicked so heavily by Plant on Whole Lotta Love that its actually funny to me. I would have loved to hear Marriott sing Whole Lotta Love with Page playing behind him. That would have been rich.

...never heard that before...amazing similarity!...:omg:

You may recognize these 2 tracks from Rob Zombie's The Devils Rejects. Pretty darn good.

I'd be hard-pressed to rank my favorite Lez Zep albums in order, but I do love the first one. It's the bluesiest of their albums. Communication Breakdown has one of the most insane guitar solos or all time. It's amazing the variety of musical styles that Le Zeppelin employed. They did hard rock, blues, acoustic, progressive rock. Stairway to Heaven is the most iconic rock anthem of all time. Zeppelin was a groundbreaking band; that's for sure.

Wow, the last ever Zeppelin concert in the USA. What were your recollections of the day/show?

Would like to hear about it, sandwiched right between the beating of a Bill Graham staff member and Plant finding out his son had passed. Them selling out MSQ and the La Forum for all of those dates just shows how massively popular they were.

Although it was an outdoor stadium concert, it was very good. I remember Rick Derringer, but not Judas Priest,[ had to look up who the others were]..lol . Zepplin took forever to come out and play, it was really awesome. I was 20 years old, and when I tell folks I saw Led Zepplin live, the look in their eyes is a great thing. the bummer part was, we sat a couple rows from this kid, who just threw up all day long.

Living in the Bay Area then I got to see some great shows in 70's and 80's. In small clubs like The Old Waldorf, Mabuyhay Gardens, Winter Land, Greek Theater, ect. I saw Bruce Springsteen at the Berkley Community Theater, for like 6 bucks.

Some of the good shows I saw
Kinks
Stones
The Who
Led Zepplin
Ramones
Iggy Pop
The Clash
The Police
Blondie
B52's
Ian Dury
Todd Rundgren
Jeff Beck
BB King or it was Muddy Waters
Peter Frampton
Dead Kennedy's
Takling Heads
Lou Reed
Nick Lowe
The Jam
Devo
Sex Pistols
Chuck Berry
Fleetwood Mac, after Peter Green left
...and a bunch I can't remember..lol

Anyone who disputes that has never actually heard them.

I've heard them, every album, front to back, back to front. Outside of a couple songs never did anything for me. They were just... eh. On a positive note about the band, if someone is playing a Zeppelin song I don't want to ram a rusty screwdriver in my ear like I do when I hear the Doors.

Zeppelin I has always been my favorite. The first track of the first album How Many More Times is the very song I'd play for the alien race if they ever landed here. I loved how Zeppelin changed their sound from album to album and they had more success with it than any band I can ever remember. The difference in style between Zeppelin I and Zeppelin III is just amazing.

The closest I ever got to seeing them live was the Page and Plant tour. I saw them at the Frank Erwin Center back in 1995 with Jason playing drums and the Egyptian Orchestra backing them. Rusted Root opened for them.
