True but McVay then shouldn’t be so hard on himself. He had a good game plan. His players clearly let him down!
The Patriots defense didn't even execute better. Goff missed 3 TD passes so the team failed collectively.

So what is left for Belichick to achieve. He is considered the best by many. How could he possibly out do what he has already accomplished. But there is still one unthinkable mountain to climb, Coach the Dallas Cowboys to a Superbowl, yea baby. Tkae the challenge Bill.

Jerry would need to hand Belichick the reigns of power and then butt out and let him do things his way. I have my doubts Jerry could do that.

New England's defense was a step ahead of the boy wonder all night. Their first 8 possessions netted 113 yards and 8 punts.

But "coaching matters"...until a coach held up as a genius flops. Then it's on the players.

What does that mean? Are you proud they are the most valuable franchise? I could care less. I want winners!
"I want winners, I want people that want to win. Can play with him, can't coach with him, can't win with him" Jerry Jones statement after he is coerced into Firing Garrett by Stephen this time next year.

every body is looking for the next mcvey when we should be looking for the next bellicheat
He was supposed to be the offensive version of BELICHIK. However, it's very interesting and simple what NE does. They find a weakness and keep picking at it till you do something. On Defense from a scheme standpoint they sell out to take away you're 1-2 guys and see if you cam make guys 3-5 into stars to beat them. Most teams can't. Brady from a mental standpoint is light years ahead of Goff. This game was more about the QB play then the coaching. Mcvay wasn't horrible, he just happens to be working with a QB that isnt that great.

You missed the sarcasm.

I am mocking someone who claims coaches are basically interchangeable and that games are won and lost solely by the players.

Is there any more proof needed that coaching matters?

New England doesnt have the talent that we do on defense and they completely shut down the Rams high-octane offense.

Great coaching can actually beat great talent. Other than QB, it’s hard to find another position where the pats have hugely superior talent.

TRUTH: If the Cowboys want to return to a SB, we’re going to need a big upgrade at HC...and that starts in the front office. Sadly, we all know who’s in charge. If 23 years of mediocrity won’t change Jerry what will?

People always say that NE gets by on an easy division schedule as it's six gimmes. Fair that the division is weak, but there's still ten other games they play not to mention facing the cream of the crop in the playoffs every year.

Doesn't matter who the cast is around Brady, they just get it done.

Yup, this is again perfect proof. We can get blinded by all the high flying offense in the post season we want. Or get blinded by shut down defense performances as well. But when the rubber meets the road in the playoffs its all about situational football and coaching. It matters when you have to come up with a solid game plan your team can follow through on. When you dont you lose period.

And this is without a doubt true. Coaching really fracking matters.

And again, an historical reminder in context...the Cowboys played in 8 of the first 30 SBs. We have played in ZERO in the last 23. Jerry doesn’t value having a great HC. Despite what history has tried to teach him.

And it further puts a spotlight on whether or not our HC can really get what he can out of our players or support them with a very solid gameplan. We cannot be the team week in and week out where our biggest disadvantage is at HC.

How to apply it to he Cowboy is the question.

The vast majority here would have said a week ago that they would love to have McVay as the HC for the Cowboys.

If one week ago everyone at CZ voted on the top 5 HCs they would prefer if all coaches were available, my guess is that McVay would have been #2 to Belichick at #1.

The Cowboys can't get McVay even if Jerry passed tomorrow and someone at CZ turned out to be his only true heir and inherited 100% ownership of the Cowboys.

How does another team hire a HC to beat Belichick?
