what about that "gullible" owner in Minny? You want some kirk Cousins at 100-120 mil? lol....Jerry starting to look better I imagine. lol ..so is Dak.

What has Minny ever won? Is that who we want to be looking at?

And yeah, there are a lot of stupid owners in this league and there are a lot of teams that haven't won crap in decades as well.

Minty over paid
But then again to get a top QB which is what they thought they got you have to over pay
Personally I think elites are worth 25 and go down from there but that’s not the market

No owner comes out in the third year of a middling QBs rookie deal and says he's going to give that QB a big contract. Jerry shot his mouth off and Prescott now holds all the cards, he has nothing on the line - his future is set.
whats your solution? Let him walk? Tag him and overpay for 1 year? Or take your chances with a guy like Sam Bradford ?lol Look at what Minnesota did last offseason signing a run of the mill QB in Cousins to that mega deal worth over 120 mil. Do you think he lived up to that? Dak is worth whatever the market dictates. If a trash QB like Cousins can get that kinda money, Dak should AT LEAST get that or more.

my point is..if a piece of trash QB like him is worth THAT...then what about Dak?

agree. I was making a point about the QB position. We all agree QB's get overpaid...but owners are desperate to find that QB to right the ship...problem is, money doesn't control how good a guys is. SOME OWNERS are dumb..

I already stated what I would do - if I was an owner, I'd be rethinking paying QBs top dollar. Same as I wouldn't pay someone like Zeke and Cooper. QB contracts are out of control and owners are about to realize this.

I'd pay Prescott but wouldn't dream of giving Zeke or Cooper the contracts they ask for. I don't want nearly 60 mil tied up between these guys, someone has to go. That crap is going to hurt us bad down the line. You can't have this much money tied up in an offense.

However, I never would have allowed it to get to this - I would have moved up in the draft years ago to get our franchise guy like a few other teams already have done. I'd much rather risk and fail drafting QBs then being a middling and inconsistent team overpaying a QB for years.

That would be ideal but not sure he would go for 3 and if he improves it cost more later
Kind of a gamble for both sides
Does he gamble on himself? Honestly if he does grow and become an upper end QB it works in his favor because salaries aren’t dropping anytime soon
Dak is the kind of kid that would bet on himself and take that deal.

The owner in Minny ,Ziggy Wilf, ought to be horse whipped lol...he set a false high market for QB's THAT IS SIMPLY NUTS. Now because of his monumental snafu, teams will be forced at gunpoint essentially, to sign guys at a much higher price. Over inflated. We agree on that. Dak gonna get paid, no doubt. Hes worth it if he stays healthy and gets better....which he has checked both those boxes in my opinion.

I foresee a front loaded deal, but a short deal for Dak. A 3 year deal with tons of incentives would be ideal.

And he's going to kill our cap for years to play at the level of Alex Smith...

....and you'll continue to deflect and blame others, like Connor Williams "nerd".
Or I could be like you and cry about it non stop over and over.
He’s our QB no matter how much you cry and he will get paid tons no matter how much you whine.

Deal with it.

The fact that you, as a fan, are okay with overpaying a middling QB is hilarious. I don't want to see any of you complaining about Jerruh and the contracts he hands out ever again.

Let DAK test the Market. Then give him the market rate if he wants to be in Dallas. Where is DAK gonna play and have the weapons he has now?

Only teams would be interested DAK is the Commanders, Denver, and Jacksonville ( another Blake Bortles nah) maybe the Dolphins if they cut Tannahill.
Best to let DAK test the Market see what the numbers are, and what team wants him. If the price is to high go get a Veterans like Joe Flacco, or maybe CJ Beathard.

PRIORITY is to Pay Zeke, Pay TANK, & PAY Cooper....Let DAK test the Market he is replaceable (just like Case Keenum who went 13-3 in Minny).

DAK and Case Keenum are strikingly similar.
The Vikings finished the 2017 season with a 13–3 record, clinching the NFC North Division. (Same as DAk 2018) In the NFC Divisional Round against the New Orleans Saints, Keenum finished with 318 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
With only 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Keenum threw a pass to Stefon Diggs, who ran 61 yards for the game-winning touchdown, giving the Vikings a miraculous 29–24 victory. (DAK last min TD vs Seattle) The next week the Vikings were defeated 38-7 by the eventual Super Bowl winners,

I hope in the next CBA they address that
The salaries of a QB are hurting teams
I would like to see them exempt one drafted players salary. But since the cap is a percentage of revenue not sure how you would pay for that
To me cap what petcentage of the cap any one player can make is most workable
It would spread the money between more players so could be an easier sell to the players

Dak is one of those guys where people can’t let go of the negatives but they can easily ignore the positives... believe it or not: it was the same way with Tony Romo... up until 2014.
Hit the nail on the head there! I’m currently mostly neutral on Dak now but it will be funny to see how many of the current bashers will be glorifying him 15 years down the road like they do with Romo now after bashing him for so many years.

"Here are team wins, not individual statistics, to try to prop up a single player!"

You're not good at...well, anything.

The very reason you use team wins is due to the fact you don't have much else to praise Prescott about with his performance.

Let's check ratings.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/ne...ighest-graded-quarterbacks-in-the-nfl-in-2018

18. DAK PRESCOTT, DALLAS COWBOYS
Overall Grade: 74.6

The arrival of Amari Cooper helped Prescott a lot, but it still didn’t elevate his play enough to drive him up significantly in overall grade. He recorded 10 big-time throws without Cooper in Weeks 1-8 (seven games) and another 10 with him in Weeks 9-17 (nine games).
Keep whining like a baby. That's all you're good at.

lmao...Let him test the market? THEN I guarantee ya we will lose him fast. You don't disrespect a QB like that. Then we would have no one at the helm...no shot to win. PASS.

Yet, even with bad footwork, Dak has led the team to more wins during his first 3 years than another other QB in franchise history. How are them apples?

Them apples are being carried by Zeke and JG's ball control offense.
