The problem is there’s no evidence Jerry’s ready to bring in a more proven HC who’d take more of the credit away from him if we had more success.

Unless the argument is Jerry’s ready to give up his pursuit to prove everyone wrong?

There's also no evidence that he won't.

If and when the Great Experiment ends, there's no telling what Jones will do. You can believe that there was nothing to all of the Sean Payton rumors if you want to, but I firmly believe there was. Their relationship and friendship is well established. And Payton's track record checks off another box, as an established qualified successful, "more proven" head coach.

Not naïve at all but Booger would be discrete as Payton would. Booger does talk a lot but he caught the entire football planet off guard with the Parcells deal. He is not risking losing picks but does anyone think they haven't had discussions about his future?

And word was, Payton's wife broke all of here nails when they were dug into I-45 as they left Dallas. But, I haven't heard more, she could be more into online shopping now.
Our situation is completely different than when we brought in Parcells to resurrect the 5-11 Funk to gain public support for a new stadium.

Breaking News is while Bill built a better team , ultimately the results werent any better than Garrett.

Why, because while we had a better team it wasn’t championship caliber much like this team.

It’s mostly wishful thinking. A false hope that Jerry is on the verge of changing his ways is totally unfounded.

Actually, he didn't. Word had leaked that Jones had talked to Parcells prior to his hiring. But Big Bill wasn't under contract to coach anywhere else, and Campo was a dead man walking anyway, nit like he could do or say anything about it.

I agree, but if there was proven tampering, there would be penalties.

His ex-wife?

Peyton has had a HOF QB for what, about 10 years now with only 1 SB. How’s he going to do here with an average QB like Dak?

Maybe he could take Dak - who's numbers were better than Brees' were before working with Payton - and help him to improve, just as he did with Brees?

Not if you're a Dak basher of course, but when has reality ever gotten in their way?

It’s really tough to be a championship caliber HC without a championship caliber team.

For some reason we have fans who see this current roster as a Super Bowl team?

Wrong. Garrett is not a championship caliber in any year. Has nothing to do with the talent on the roster this year.

This season could have been used to acclimate a new coaching staff. Instead it will be spent more than likely watching us do enough in the regular season to have a fighting chance to get into the playoffs— only to watch our doors get blown off again by a better prepared and coached squad

Didn't know they were divorced but then I stopped keeping up with them when they moved to NO.

The deal with Payton is he may not be the best HC in the NFL but he is better than Garrett; however, the way he handled the play calling at the end of that playoff game would have set this Forum on fire. Buck and Aikman were in shock and he brain farted away possession.

I've always thougth Payton's playcalling on O was questionable. Not terrible by any means, but definitely questionable.

On your part maybe. No contract extension for Garrett tells me what's up.
But even if Garrett is finally fired there’s no guarantee Jerry won’t pursue another puppet type HC.

Curious what gives you confidence Jerry will end his pursuit of proving he can build a championship team without a proven HC so he can finally receive the credit he didnt with Jimmy?

It was definitely questionable on their last sequence in Redzone setting up the penalty that wasn’t.

But everyone is better than Garrett by some of the rhetoric we hear on this forum. Unfortunately it’s the best we’ve seen with this franchise in 21st Century.

Can we stop with the hand wringing about past failures? Can we instead discuss the future?

Why do you need to censor topics & discussions when you can simply choose not to read or respond to anything or anyone you don't like?

Expecting silence or all opinions to align with your own is a fools errand

I guess the same thing that gives you confidence that he actually searches out "puppets"?

That very thought was the genesis behind this post being created.

We can discuss any Cowboys topic that we find of interest. That's what's great about a forum like this one.
