One step closer to ET

Probably wants to live where there's no state income tax.

And I would like a more credible news source than Fisher

Maybe he plans on signing with the Longhorns lol
Fisher will be a more credible source for a small subscription fee...lol

Thomas will go to the highest bidder. He knows this will be his last opportunity at a big contract.
So he's coming here. JG is going to be pushing for us to spend money this year cause his job is on the line. Same goes for JJ and SJ, if they don't perform we'll be looking for a new...........oh wait, my bad.

IF(?) this happens, let’s hope it’s not too much of a high-guarantee/multi-year deal.

If I see Heath break down for a tackle 15 yards away from the ball carrier and wait for him to come to him it will be too damn soon!

Worst case scenario is we sign him and he has a bad year and flips off Garrett in the middle of a game. That's worth 8 million right there.

He's now got his kids in school in Texas to finish the year. Think of all the taxes he'll save. He can easily transfer them to Dallas if the opportunity arises. Moving them to Dallas immediately would look too much like tampering to a nitwit like Goodell.

I’m not sure this is significant. For one thing, Austin isn’t Dallas, and for another Austin is actually closer to Houston than Dallas. Besides, if his family going to live in the city ET plays in anyway, and are going to be away from him for long stretches anyway, would it really matter that much if it were an hour flight or a 2 hour flight from the city he plays in? At most it seems to be a commitment to a general area of the country, but not to Dallas specifically.

I don’t think it means anything either, but the Dallas to Seattle flight is more than 2 hours...about 3 and a half.

We don't have income tax here in Washington either.

All it means is that he is leaving SEA for sure

He is an UFA and can go anywhere but he isn't going back to SEA and he wants his family back in Austin

DAL should make him a priority

I wasn’t referring to Seattle. It seems highly unlikely he would end up back there. What I meant was there are other teams he could sign with in places that dont take significantly longer to get to by air. Houston, for example, would actually be shorter.

Earl Thomas is a player in my opinion that can be an Ed reed type later in his career.

Sure he’s getting up there in age. You may only get elite level play from him for a year or two... but after that with his knowledge of the game he’d be at least an above average contributor.

Getting ET is a championship type move. He’s a great player.... leader.... and he’s won SBs before. He wants to be here. We have the cap. Make it happen. He potentially take our defense from very good to elite

Maybe they are doing this because Earl isn’t going to play much longer and want his kids set up.

I would love for this to be true, but ET has had some big injuries that Ed Reed didn’t. For example, in last 3 seasons, Thomas has had a separated shoulder requiring surgery, and two broken legs. He’s missed 19 of his last 48 games which is missing about 40% of the last 3 seasons.

ET was a great player. At 30, he’s now probably a really good player but there are big risks involved. The likelihood of an NFL safety at 30 with recent injuries bouncing back to his prior level of play is extremely unlikely. The kind of deal I think he’s actually worth at this point will probably be considered an insult to a guy like him. I would only feel comfortable with a 1-2 year deal with incentives. I can’t see him taking that.

You prolly should have taken fewer naps during Geography and Government classes when you were a lad.
You probably should've did less drugs in geography classes when you were a lad. That way you could comprehend humor when it's punching you right in the mouth.
I would step you through it but it would get political.

Sign Thomas and Suh and it won’t matter how bad Dak misses receivers.
