Every QB in Dak's situation gets a ton of attention. Cowboy fans just pay less attention when the QB plays for another team.
I think the point she's making is that they aren't usually so diametrically opposed in their opinion of value. I think she may have a point. Dak's value and talent cause more extreme points of view than most QBs, IMO.

I like Nate but he always takes an angle that is sympathetic towards the player.

His argument and the stats he chose to make it is pretty weak. I lol'd at the prime time record thing. Hadn't heard that one yet.

Some of you don't watch sports shows. They obsess over the Cowboys and Dak's contract falls in that category. They've been talking about it for weeks and he still has a year left on his.

He does you’re right. But I give him credit for at least being consistent about it.

The OP is about a national sports show but carry on. It doesn't even matter.

...this is not out of the ordinary. It's a small segment over a starting QB with an upcoming contract extension - Dude, there was an entire documentary last year on where Kirk Cousins would end up and what his contract would be LOL

They don't even have to pay him now but I can see them going 5/150, the best thing to do is to get some competition in here so Dak can't just sit back knowing there's no better option behind him. We've seen how Dak looks without Zeke and when Zeke doesn't go off and he is awful.

current and former nfl players always say pay him. it wouldn't look very good if they said otherwise.

Don't be obtuse. Dak's contract has received waaaay more press than the others. Either you live under a rock or you're purposely denying the obvious.
Maybe locally, but I wouldn't go as far as to say "Waaaaay more press." I would actually say that if you don't hear the NFL-wide contract buzz that you live under a rock.
Of course Dallas is in the spot light by proxy, but it's not anything out of the ordinary.

Can't speak to Dallas because I don't live there, but Cowherd, Burleson, Carter, Whitlock and more, many more, have been overly demonstrative about it. Social media heads have also been vocal about it. It's as if, whether they think he should be paid or not, it's personal or something.

LMAO at anyone, not signing the check, with "pay the man". He's hardly an authority on cap management, just another ex jock talking head. And there are far too many of them.

The whole "Pay the man" mahantra is stupidity at it's core. The agreement between the Players Union and the NFL says that a certain percentage has to be paid out to the players. The pie is the pie, there is no more, there is no less. That means that the more the next guy gets paid, the less there is for you. To me, players should be inline with, "Pay the man a fair amount", more so then just pay the man.

Fair amount is open to interpretation. I think Booger's fair amount might be a little different than Prescott's fair amount.

What would be fair to me would be a pot o money for each game, 65% to the winner and 35% to the loser and let them divvy it up as they see fit. The cap is 191M x 32 =6,112,000,000 x 95% = 5,806,400,000 / 512 games = 11,340,000 per game. Players that want to double their game check? Win, getting paid just to play is silly, they get half for that. 305M for the playoffs, that's some serious money to be playing for, they could have 20M per playoff game and a 100M for the SB.

As long as they apply it to themselves when the time comes.

You won't get many former players saying that a QB should be underpaid.

Fans are going to be crying once he gets paid. It’s going to be funny around here. They like it when players play better than their contract but not once they get paid. Stop worrying about other men money.
