I wouldn’t take anything less than a Top 10 pick. He’s a blue chip player...

Obviously no team would give that up and have too pay him 100 mill. We will figure out a long term deal as others have stated.

Tank injured? He played through his "minor" injuries and was still a force. Stupid to want to trade him. You are embarrassing yourself.
Minor or not he once again was injured. And a force? Really? When I talk about his play falling off after the first 4 games people use the injury as an excuse/reason for the fall off. So he wasn't a force through his injury. Although the same thing happened in 2017 and there was no injury excuse/reason for the fall off after 4 games.

He may have height and weight measurables but that seems as far as it goes. Another Ryan Russell.
I totally bought into the hype that he was an emerging player that would take a season or 2, but would be solid for a decade.

Okay .... Tank is traded

Or should we agree to a time and all say it in unison?

“Get rid of your best pass rusher, watch defense decline for skill players that don’t win championships!”

Every position wins championships. This thing about pass rushers winning championships or star rbs not winning championships is BS.

if DLaw were traded...I'd hope we land Clemson DE Celin Ferrell....or Miss State's Montez Sweat.
but I'd rather just pay the man....we developed him...I'd like us to see it thru.

Crawford isn't a pass rusher but he's solid at run defense. He would be an above average DE.
You lost me when you said Crawford would be an above-average DE. They tried him there and he totally SUCKED. NO PRESSURE. NO SACKS. Hell, he’s barely average at DT. I’ve never seen a guy make so much for doing so average.

I’m not sure you could get one 1st rounder for him, much less two, considering he is not under contract. Nobody is going to give up too much for a guy they can only be guaranteed to have under the franchise tag for one season.

He's under contract once we've franchised him. We gave up a 1st for Cooper. The length of contract is similar. We were close to giving up a 2nd for Thomas.

Maybe we can get something from a team looking to make a splash. I don't want to sign him long term, but I'm sure there are teams that would.

Once he’s franchised, he’s under contract for one season. Hard to give up a first rounder for that, although i wouldn’t argue that it’s impossible for some team out there, but 2 is completely outside the realm of possibility.

Oh really? Rattle off the list of elite RBs that have won Super Bowls without any reaches like “RAY RICE THO” - revisionist history is dumb.

Show me the elite WRs that have won Super Bowls recently

I can give you a list of elite pass rushers

I can give you a list of elite pass rushers

Every RB with an elite season since Emmitt in 1995:

Terrell Davis had over 4000 yard from scrimmage in back to back Super Bowl seasons.

Marshall Faulk had 1300 rushing and 1000 receiving in the rams super bowl year.

Jamal Lewis had over 1600 scrimmage yards in only 13 starts in 2000. Mindboggling for a rookie. Remember they had no passing game, teams would line up 8 in the box and he would steamroll them. Arguably nearly as impressive as his 2k yard season.

Corey Dillon had 1635 rushing yards(!) in 2004 and a won the ring

Marshawn Lynch had a combined 3200 yards from scrimmage in 2013&2014 and came 1 horrible playcall away from winning back to back rings. Not winning doesn’t count, but I’m listing it because the irony is they would have won if they DID use their elite back.

It doesn’t have to happen every year to debunk the concept that it can’t happen.

Obviously Holt and Bruce in 1999.

Keyshawn by 2002 had 1000 yards in 4 of the last 5 seasons including that one.

The Giants basically won in 2007 because Plaxico was destroying everyone. They don’t get close without him, which was proven in 2008 when they Started hot, he shot himself and then they bottomed out. Dline had a lot to do with that ring, but they still had Tuck and Osi and couldn’t save the season. Plaxico made them go on O.

They did the same thing again in 2011 when Victor Cruz had 1500 yards and Hakeem Nicks had 1200. Cruz wasn’t top of the nfl for long, but he absolutely was that year.

Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne are both going to the hall of fame, they combined for 2700 receiving yards and 21 tds in 2006.

Gronk is basically used as a WR for NE as he’s not the world greatest blocker, but if you don’t count him then he adds 2 rings to the elite TE list.

Elite implies top performer at your position, and absolutely every one of these examples were in contention for that in their super bowl years.

Cowboys are in a tough spot.

Their pass rush is average as it is. Lawrence is the best DE they have by far. Letting him walk means their pass rush likely goes back to being well below average.

Unless there is a free agent out there who will be cheaper and be just as good, if you let Lawrence walk, you better be prepared for mediocre DL play.

Let's say tank is traded

You can then determine that the DL will suck

Thus, tank isn't getting traded

how can you trade a player who has no contract ?

then... our dl sucked against the rams even with him.
