What kind of WR do you want?

I'm the reverse.

It could be that we lose just one starting player this offseason (Beasley). Surely that makes it somewhat of a priority. Even once his role was reduced he was still looking at 500 yard and 50 receptions. That's not an insignificant player in the offense and Beasley has no versatility. If you have a slot guy that can also play outside, run jet sweeps, and return punts then IMO that's a role that definitely warrants a 2nd round pick.

I think we have that guy in Austin, which I'm all for keeping if the price is right as 3/4 WR who is your designated return guy.

That would be ideal for me as well.

Then you've got a draft pick in Wilson coming back and we can take a WR late in the draft to compete.

Focus on DT / S / TE and maybe DE in the draft.

I think FA is going to answer our questions on how they decide to move in the draft.

With the depth of DT in the draft I think teams are going to be hesitant to sign DT in FA for market value, which I think we can go get some guys on shorter term deals so they can hit the market next year to seek that bigger long term deal.

The safety market is intriguing in FA because of the lack of depth in the draft and the amount of depth in FA I bet teams are going to spend lots of money here.

TE market I believe will be the same as the DT it's going to be a slower market especially when you consider it is a weak market. For the Cowboys they might have to move up to get one or address another position.

With all the being said I think if the Cowboys want to address the S position they need to look into FA, and I think DT is another position where they can take advantage of the state of the market. If they do this they can either move up for a TE, or a WR or sit back and wait.

Depending on his interviews Preston Williams could be a stud/steal in round 3/4

There is a zero percent chance that there won't be a better TE available at 58 than what the Cowboys already have.

What they have is bottom of the barrel crap. Let's be honest.
The farther away we get from having watched actual football, the more I am starting to like what we have at TE......

Our FO has been fairly vocal about taking care of needs in FA and taking what the draft gives them, I’m just very concerned they think they’re ok at DT and S.

IMO we don’t have starter talent at 1T, 3T, FS or SS. I like The idea of developing Schultz, but am ok with picking someone in the draft to compete and/or be TE2 due to the depth of the draft.

With how much money we have to pump into keeping our own guys I just don’t know if we’ll have the funds to pickup FA talent at S and DT.

Fortunately, the draft is strong at DT and has pretty good depth at S.

I like the idea of:

- Pay the guys we need to extend
- Draft a DT early
- Draft a S early
- Draft a mid round TE
- Draft a mid round WR

I don’t like the idea of moving up for anyone, unless a top defender falls and we use our 2nd and extra 4th to move up.

They know they are not okay at DT, you heard that right after the playoff game, so you can guarantee this is addressed and outside of our own will be priority #1 unless they swing for ET then DT will be 1.5.

They might sign one player not on our team to something that has a longterm commitment, but I think they are going to look to fill holes on 1-2 year deals with the 2nd year not having much guaranteed.

Eifert, McCoy, Dareus, Danny Shelton, Jonathan Hankins type moves are what I have in mind.

If you can get a safety as a guy you lock up on multi-year deals, Eifert and one of those DT on show me deals you go into the draft feeling pretty damn good I think especially if you can bring back Austin as a KR guy and can mix it up as your #3/4 WR.

Wesley x1000

Him and his teammate Dakota Allen are two of my favorite prospects

Just watched some Wesley, and I am not really a fan. He reminds of Bryce Butler for some reason. He lacks route running to the extreme. He does also remind me of Vincent Jackson a lot which isn't a bad thing but not really a fit in the offense and with Dak.

His route running is going to need some major work, but that's more so a product of the air raid Tech runs.

Same issues with Baylor WRs coming out, it's just not a huge focus of there's. So the sky is the limit for him if we get him with a good coach.

His routes will need some work, but go back and watch his feet and hips when he changes directions. Pretty special IMO for someone that big.

I think if he runs in the 4.5s and tests well I’m the 20 shuttle that’s a home run for him.

Samuel is my dream pick at 58. He is not just a slot specialist. Brown is more of a speed guy that I honestly don't think would be a realistic option at 58 as he will likely be gone.

I just can’t see the team using its pick at 58 on a WR after we just used our first rounder for Cooper. I’m guessing we go DT or TE at 58 and WR in the 3rd or 4th.

I hope you’re right!

Maybe a better thread would’ve been good kid round / late round targets.

my 3 favorites are:
1.Riley Ridley,Georgia
2.Parris Campbell,Ohio St
3.Deebo Samuel,S Carolina

later Rd favorites:
Penny Hart,Ga State
Hunter Renfrow,Clemson
Myles Boykin,Notre Dame

Ridley is looking more enticing every day.

Especially if he can play slot and outside. It’d be great to have the option to put Coop at slot sometimes.
