I wasn't a big fan of Rosen in college, think he has a bad attitude and injury prone. However, he was stuck in a pretty bad situation last year - like with Jared Goff, it's probably best to wait and see that jump from year one to year two. Same with Darnold, and same with waiting to put Mayfield and Jackson in the "good pick" category.

Agree with everything aside from Baker. He’s good. No wait required.

I'd rather have Murray than Rosen. Maybe Rosen will end up a good player idk, but I would rather have Dak.

Me too. The question is more would you rather have Rosen at 6 mil or Dak at 25+. Along with whatever compensation you’d receive in return for Dak

We need to be looking for a backup qb who can be coached up in case of an injury to the starter. As others have stated, dak's name is etched in stone.

Dak at 25+. I think he understands what it takes to be a Cowboys QB and I'm not sure Rosen would. Dak has made mistakes in his life no doubt but he has been a great leader on and off the field. Idk, I'm not going to diss Rosen because outside of the A&M game I haven't really watched much of his film. But I'll say this, I don't think you make this type of move to save the cap space unless A. you don't believe in Dak or B. you're trading for a talent who's a step above and I'm not on board with either. At some point someone's going to have to pay Rosen the same if he doesn't suck. If he is bad, well then you just wasted however many years of Zeke/Cooper/etc.

Love Rosen, but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I'm rolling with Dak.

That being said, if I was a QB needy team, I'd be throwing my 1st rounder at Arizona. I think Rosen's better than any QB in this class.

Obviously in this scenario you’d trade dak. That’s the entire point.

So you're trading an ascending 2nd-3rd tier quarterback who's created a good rapport with one of the best receivers in the league (not to mention a second round player with promise) and replacing him with an immobile player that has not established himself as a proven starter in this league. In doing so, you've narrowed your offensive diversity because Rosen is not a running threat and isn't nearly as likely to escape the pass rush.

In exchange, you're saving cap space and the ability to draft a couple of players that you aren't sure will ever be productive, much less superior to the players you have now.

Acquire a rookie contract to avoid daks contract.

At the most important position for every team in the league. Hmm.....

And yes, everything is madden when hypothetical

Presuming your interest in the trade is born of the notion that you'd like your preferred team to be more successful in the real world, let me suggest that discounting the psychological impact of replacing a well-liked employee in the top leadership position of your organization is foolish..... hypothetically speaking.

The Cardinals are not going to trade away Josh Rosen this year. The Arizona Cardinals are not going to draft Kyler Murray in the first round. I know this. Stranger things have happened in this league, but I do believe the Kingsbury/Murray thing is being totally overblown. Saying that, if IF I’m wrong and for some reason the Cardinals decide they have seen enough of their first year QB and decide to move on, what should be the Cowboy’s response? Also consider a Josh Rosen trade will be for a first round pick (in the Cowboys perspective it would be their 2020 first if they decide to offer).

Also know, I am not a Dak basher nor am I a Dak apologist. I guess I’m somewhere in the middle. This is just a question.
Rosen sucks.

I wonder why Watson, Prescott, Wilson, Newton, RGIII, or Kaepernick never got such a benefit of the doubt that good ole Baker seems to get...

Oh, I wonder why...

It wouldn’t make an iota of sense to give up a 1st round pick for a player that isn’t even a clear and certain upgrade over what we have.

I think the Cowboys might be more inclined to wait and see if Mike White has enough to cause them to consider keeping him around.

If Arizona has seen enough of Rosen after 1 season then why would I want to take the guy they dont want and replace my starting QB with him?
Since you hate paying QB's I guess the plan would be to trade Rosen in a few years before we have to pay him also?

So far the only Rookie QB from last year that would be worth consideration is Baker Mayfield. Darnold, Allen, Rosen, look like the next Blake Bortles or Ryan Tannehill. They were overdrafted because they play QB.

So Arizona would "hypothetically" be giving up on their top ten 1st round pick after one season!?!

You start a thread with a hypothetical and this is the best you can come up with?... lol.
Are you snowed in and stir crazy? If not, go outside!... lol.

There's a better chance of Terrance Williams retiring from football to become a NASCAR driver.
Or to have a line of "signature" scooters hit the Harley Davidson stores.

Randy Gregory to open a chain of pot shops in Nebraska.
David Irving to become a marriage counselor.
Jerry Jones writes a book: "How to be a great GM".

Any of those would've been a more interesting hypothetical.

Just havin' a little fun @J817... lol.
