Time to move on. Let's just bring back Tony Romo while we are at it? How stupid can the front office be??? The BS Politics need to stop.... I expect Tony Romo to be back to help out his Uncle Jerry and buddy Jason Garrett . Romo & Witten can play till they are 90 years old . We all are buddies and we are all just this one happy inbred family!!!

Well, all of this is kinda crazy but hey, strange things happen every day I guess. Here is what I will say, when Witt first retired, a lot of people talked about him possibly coming back. I thought that the idea was crazy, never happen. Well, it has happened and I was 100% wrong there so my apologies to all of you who I called bat**** crazy. LOL........ You were guys were right, I was completely wrong. Big plate of crow for me but congrats to you guys.
Should have made this a thread so we could have all razzed you in the forum it deserved, but this is cool...

Bottom line is...he left. You can say he retired but he took his experience, leadership, and left behind a void after the Cowboys had already drafted!

Can he come back to the same role, or should he return humble?

He's here to yell at scrubs during TC, make snarky remarks at the FO and take all the y option plays.
And be a good influence and block well, for the 1st time in 4 years.
And get around 11 false starts.

I love Witt but I sure hope one of the youngsters displace him from the leadership role.

To be fair to Witten, the retirement rumors started the day after the first round of the draft. That's why the Eagles traded up to nab Dallas Goedert right before the Cowboys' pick in the second.

Witten is still Witten. What he has done in this league hasn't changed and never will. He can walk back into the locker room and immediately command the same respect he had before. He just loved the game too much to walk away. We've seen it with other players in other sports, too.

About half the snaps is correct. He'll split TE1 snaps with Eifert and they'll occasionally play them together, and Jarwin/Schultz will get some spot opportunites (5-10 snaps each per game). Rico is a goner.

I don't think Eifert is in the picture anymore
