He’d be top 10 if Romo were still here or if he got to play with Brady!

his best year was 2016 with Dak..facts… Bease is overvaluing himself and I wish him all the luck..he can help this team but not at those prices..Now if he could be dynamic PR then id say keep him, his fair catches are infamous.. you cant be the #3 or 4 target and dont have ST skills that make you threat and get paid 20mil..

a healthy Tavon Austin is what we need, thats easier said then done but he is an absolute threat at returns and can be a 3/4th option WR..better then bease

Ah, the old "define a player by one number, when that number isn't the player's strength" trick.

And what does "JAG" mean in this context? Beasley is a role player. He's not going to be anybody's #1 or #2 receiver. But in the right role, he's been extremely effective in his career.
It shows that A) he’s durable but B)he’s not the elite receiver he thinks he is
He thinks he's elite? He's reportedly looking for $20M guaranteed. Beckham has $65 guaranteed, Evans $55, Hopkins $49...that's the elite.

Who gets $20M guaranteed? Quincy Enunwa, Paul Richardson, Kenny Stills, DeSean Jackson (at age 32, over only 3 years), Tyler Lockett (signed before he broke out this season, and also for 3 years). It seems to me that Beasley has a pretty good sense of his value. A 4 year contract with $20M guaranteed may be a bit high, but you expect his opening position to be low?

A 2-yard catch on 3rd-and-1 is often worth more than a 20-yard catch on the last play of the half.

However, Beasley isn't worth a big check. If you're going to pay a slot receiver big money, go get Humphries, who is much more dangerous than Beasley in mulitiple ways.

He is a slot WR.

That means he does not play as many snaps as even TWill played.

It also means he works the short area to move the chains. Yards are a terrible stat to judge a slot WR.
Target 10-19 yards, 2018
Beasley 16 of 19 (84%) 242 yd 12.7 ypa 1 td 0 int 136.2
Cooper 13 of 20 (65%) 218 yd 10.9 ypa 1 td 1 int 97.5
others 38 of 76 (50%) 545 yd 7.2 ypa 5 td 5 int 68.1

How about total receptions?

He’s 52nd with 319. Amendola is 39th with 352.

Charles Clay the TE is 50th with 323.

Cobb and Nelson are each top 20 with 445.

Unless Kellen Moores offense is more like the Packers, there’s no reason to invest in a slot WR.

Yeah that's not a accurate way to try and prove what Beasley's worth is. He gets open and makes plays. You don't need a stat to show you that.

Beasley fanboys in here early trying to defend their boy

Look hes a nice little role playing slot guy.. but guess what that nice little role player is asking for a decent check that we should be able to replace via the draft/ UFA/ or FA

Tony helped make Beasley... If Dak is worth a fat paycheck he should make another slot WR look good

Good player at what he does
Getting too old and expensive
This draft has a good number of slot guys
Time to get younger and cheaper

5 or 6 million a year. 4 year 24 million with the 20 million guaranteed. Give him some up front.

Replace him with who? Rookie WRs don't come into a slot role and be nearly as productive as Beasley, and there is no WR on the market who would provide better value.

Veteran FA WRs are Allen Hurns, Donte Moncrief, Paul Richardson or Danny Amendola. You're not going to get Cole Beasley cheap.

Bease would probably be closing in on a 1,000 if Romo were still around
