Whether you agree with rules or not is irrelevant. They are the rules. PERIOD. Follow them or get lost. I don't like the fact my employer only allows me 30 minute lunch but I abide by the rule. It's a simple concept.

Not if you don’t care whether you’re employed or not.

Irving’s statement makes it seem as if that he doesn’t care too much as to whether he is getting a check, and won’t return until the rules are changed. I think and hope more players could potentially do the same in the near future. With the opioid epidemic in this country, it is absurd for the NFL to push players in that direction, yet vilify marijuana.

To be fair, I still think Irving is making the wrong decision, for now.

Marijuana is a poison. That is how it works, that is how you get high. Like Nicotine, like Alcohol, like the secretions or colorful frogs in the Amazon rainforest, it dampens many function of your nervous system. That is what defines it as a drug. In the state of Texas it is outlawed. These things are indisputable.

David Irving chose Marijuana over football. There are two interpretations of why that is: either A) he does not have a proper commitment to football that is required of an nfl player, which doesn’t seem to be the case, as he’s said he’ll commit if weed is legal... or B) he cannot stop.

If you cannot stop something that is illegal, despite losing great things in your life, that is the very definition of an addiction. It is a drug, he is addicted.

Would you stop weed if you lost your job? And couldn’t get anything remotely equal paying? If you could no longer support your kids? What do you think Irving’s college degree is in? How do you think he’d do in corporate America? That’s whats happening here. It doesn’t matter how much you smoke, it doesn’t matter if you’re personally addicted or not. It doesn’t matter what condition your body is in, these aren’t related.
Your assessment on marijuana is wayyyyy off and so is Texas...LMAO...and most people I know including me the only thing it has done to their nervous system is not allow mofos to get on our nerves...and enjoy life better.

Well at this point I don't have any kids living at home. I also don't have $850 in child support. My 3 level house is being transformed where I can take advantage of it and shoot all over. If I stayed home and worked my porn business websites full time pushing 16 hours a day. I could take it from $30k a year to probably double or triple that. So ummm yeah...also like I said I been in Corporate America a long time and my 401k looks PRETTY SWEET. Also If I got to stay home my internet business might be able to expand into the selling of stuff like legal gambling and online sale to Cialis and Viagra but I don't have time for that working my Corporate Gig.

I agree with Irving, but that doesn't make him any less of a moron.

Imagine if the NBA had the same rules regarding controlled substances...they would have no star players.
Wonder if Irving had any pro basketball potential and chose football instead? If so, there is a holy knight who could have told him

If this don't prove to everyone that he has no intention of stopping I don't know what it will take.

I get paid a fraction of a percent of what he does and I still can't smoke weed and still be employed. Irving needs someone to slap some sense into him.

Slap? With their hand? Someone should start with a 2X4.

And this time last year people were actually worrying about somebody taking him off our hands for a mere 2nd round pick. Hindsight is 20/20. Well unless you’re this idiot. He’s probably too doped up to see much of anything.

How about you go pull and compare the number of annual deaths from Nicotine/Alcohol/Prescription Pills/Marijuana and then get back to me. I can't believe you talking frogs in the Amazon Rain Forest....ARE YOU SMOKING DIZZAM....

"Well once they do that, give me a call," he wrote. "[Because] it's bull**** how I have Xanax bars and hydros right next to me to take — given to me by the NFL, of course — however we can't smoke the same weed the staff itself smokes." ....

"I’m in the NFL because I’m great at what I do," he wrote in a recent IG post. "I’m not in the NFL because I’m an Eagle Scout, or the perfect model citizen. I didn’t put on a mask or kiss *** to be where I am. I'm here on natural ability.

"This is God’s plan. Not mine. Trust me, I’m adjusting to it as well. Once I step on the field and stop performing, then we have a problem.

"So does anyone have anything to say about my play?"

David Irving. You sir are an idiot.

You just gave up millions of dollars for your family that could provide for your kids and your kids kids just so you can smoke.

If he don't talk about it then how will it change, isn't that how society becomes better. So you saying you just want him to "Play ball and shut up"

To be fair, this isn't a binary decision. Another option is to choose not to smoke for a few years and play, while still talking about it and advocating for change.

Additionally, quite a few people on this board would be fired for testing positive for weed without 2nd or 3rd chances. Ridiculous (IMO), but true. Irving has chosen weed and other career opportunities over football. That's fine, it's his choice to make, not ours.

Priorities. Irving would rather get high than earn $ millions during the limited time he is capable of playing in the NFL. He will suffer the consequences of that choice. I feel bad for the teammates, coaches, and fans that invested time and energy on this guy.

I also feel sorry for his daughter who is undeniably being negatively affected by her father's decisions. She has no say in the matter, although it has a huge effect on her life.

If you think Top executives, owners, CEO.. whatever don't smoke weed you dumb **.

Sheep except alcohol, pills and medications all because it's legal...these are worse than weed.

Some will bash weed than go take CBD oil. Nature cures the human body...man made pills and medications wreck the body cause it's foreign substance hence multiple side effects.
