So, who of significance are we cutting from our team? We’ll give Dak his contract and still have money to go after a tier 1 guy like ET, plus the draft. We aren’t getting rid of good players and replacing them with scrubs.

Where did I ever say we would be cutting anyone from our team? There's going to come a time soon when we're going to have to pay our own guys as well. Without the cap space, they WILL walk away for a bigger paycheck. I never said we are getting rid of good players. They wont have any problems walking away on their own once the well runs dry.

I already said, in my opinion, if he does well next season against the likes like the Patriots and other great teams, that will go a long way in showing how good he is. I mean obviously the strength of schedule should be much harder next year than it was this year. If the Patriots game plan against Dak like the Rams did that would be disturbing, but not surprising. Also note, I have not said that Dak is horrible, I call him slightly above average. There are a lot of things I like about him. 2018 schedule looked hard to begin with, but then as often happens, it didn't reflect the realities of the season and was an easier schedule than it first appeared. That is less likely to happen in 2019 because the cowboys made the playoffs.
Does well? Lol he's done well the pay 3 years.

If he goes out and goes 21-27 for 185 yds 0tds 0ints but we win 24-21, what will that tell you? 24-30 for 350 and 4 tds and no ints but we lose 34-31 what will that tell you . If statistically he has a similar year and we go 10-6, win the division and get the the nfc championship game what will that tell you . You keep mentioning the pats, what does he need to do in that game to show you he's the real McCoy?

No I'm not and you still can't answer either question. Lol

Qbs need help and I never said pay him so much you can't surround him with talent. Lol I think he deserves 25m a year but will probably get more.

Lest say he gets 30m a year. That won't hurt the team from putting talent around him. Not being rude but learn the cap before you start saying stuff that just isn't true.

People see 30m a year and think that's the actual cap hit, it's not. We can sign Dak, Cooper and keep dalw on the tag or sign him long term this year. Sigining Cooper actually saves us cap and signing Dlaw would too but I don't see that happening.

Let's say we do that and their cap hit is actually the same as their avg annual. Dak hit would be 30m, say we gave Cooper 18m and that was hit cap hit next year , we tag dlaw again or he gets 22m a year and that's actually his cap hit. That would be 40m in cap taking up and we still will have 50m in cap space left. Say we decide to take care of Zeke and make him the highest paid rb at 15m a year. Like I said that wouldn't be his cap hit the first year but for this game we'll say it will. Then we pay jaylon and make him the highest paid lb at 13m a year. Won't be his cap hit but we'll say it is. Then we decide to take care of Jones and make him the highest paid cb at 16m a year. Won't be his cap hit but we'll say it will. That would be 44m and still carry 6m in cap space into the season .

All that is huge numbers that probably won't happen and won't actually be their cap hits. But even if it was we could afford that and that's with out any restructures or players getting cut.

Once again , people use the word cap hell way too much . Teams would almost have to try on purpose to get in cap hell.

Once again I'll ask, what qbs have ever won a chip without talent and what does dak need to do next year to show you he's the real McCoy ?

Well your question isn't very good? I gave you a general idea what it would take to convince me of Dak. And I was on the Dak fan boat until the end of 2017 when I saw some quarterbacking by him. But for me to think that Dak is the real thing, it would have to be that he looks like the real thing to me. Obviously, if he can looks good against the Pats that would help. I didn't want to say win a division game, since I feel that is putting things up there and is a bit unfair for dak. He can change my mind without that kind of extreme. But it all has to do with what I see, and I understand that you might see things differently. I saw Dak getting game planned against in the Rams game, I'm sure you didn't see it that way. But to me thats a very bad thing when a team can game plan against your quarterback. If that is true, then something is wrong with your quarterback. Which is why I mentioned the Patriots as a measuring stick. If the Rams can game plan against Dak, then so will the best run organization in all of football, and I think we should be able to see it in that game if it is still true or if Dak has gotten better.

Dak did well against the Rams. It was Zeke and the Oline who failed. Don't know what game you were watching???

You know it is hard to take you serious if you "Lol" in every post. So you think Dak looked good in 2017 and that season was not a disaster? Why did players from other teams mock Dak that they watched tape and that he had been figured out for? Did dak look good when he had average talent and went 3-5 in 2018? And you keep wanting me to say that there is a single thing that Dak has to show me, when it doesn't work that way. I observe a game and I judge and form an opinion. My opinion might or might not be right. My views might be different for yours. But I certainly don't think simplistically enough to say that Dak would have to do a single thing to prove he is the real mccoy, or like I said if there is a single thing the standards would be so high that it would not be fair on Dak. I mean, I can say Dak would have to show he can win an Division Game, but that is not fair on him. There have been teams that have won superbowls with average quarterbacks though. :) I mean you are trying to simplify things too much.

Dak works hard and plays hard, doesn't shrink in the final minutes, and he's still improving albeit incrementally. I'm happy for him and still hopeful that he can get over that hump. Some decent pass blocking and an offseason with Coop should help things too.

There’s always the draft for replacing talent. That’s actually how the system is supposed to work. We’re locking up (or will lock up) the positions that are the hardest to replace...QB, DE, OT. Every team is going to eventually end up having a lot of cap space tied up in their QB. You can’t expect to just swap out QBs on their rookie contracts every 4-5 years.

So the eye test. Win, lose, 300 yd game, 185yd game , just the eye test? That's fair but here's the problem with the eye test on both sides. On the dak fan side he'll look good more times than not. I'm the non Dak Fan side it really won't matter how he looks. The narrative is set on both sides and there will be very little cross over from either side. I seen this happen Romos whole career . Maybe Dak will be like Romo once he retires, become a legend some how .

I was watching the game, where the Rams game planned against Dak, and dared for him to throw it deep while they focused in on the short game and took away the running game. If you did not see that, it says a lot about what you know about football I think. I saw a game where Dak only got hot in the last 6 mins of the game after being horrible for 54 mins of the game. And then the question there is was it because Dak cameback or was it because the Rams went from playing to win to playing to keep from losing while in prevent mode?

It's not just the eye test. you are trying to corner me into committing into something, when I'm more of a cautious person. That's the reason I don't think you should pay Dak until he shows what he can do against a hard schedule. and see, there is more proof of how you trying to corner me, saying eye test when I had previously mentioned strength of schedule as being important. There is logic involved where people know that teams do good one year and have a nice record and then the next year they are not so hot because they played much better teams than they did the year before. Also beating the patriots is more than an eye test, and also I was generous enough before to word what I said so Dak wouldn't even have to beat the patriots, by saying looks good.

Yes, Dak had some bad games in 2017. It's unusual for a 2nd year guy to have bad games, you know? They were saying the same thing about Romo in 2008 and even 2009. They had abook in him and he's not that good. I argued for him for 10 years . Looks like I'll be doing the same thing for Dak .

Win a division game? He has. Or do you mean win it on his own with your eye test? I never asked for a single thing. I was asking what he would have to do to prove he's the real McCoy. You're saying pass your eye test, that's pretty general. I ask because he's a QB for a team that won the division 2 out of his first 3 years. Has the most or 2nd most wins. Others I can mention but they've been repeated over and over again. Again , just curious what you and others need to see. The wins are there but obviously he doesn't get credit for a lot of the wins from your side of the argument.

As far as the lol I do it for 2 reasons. 1. Because someone says something that is dumb and makes me laugh so I'm letting them know I'm laughing at them. 2. To keep the peace . Lol sometimes words can be read wrong and people try to determine your emotions or intent from typed out words . So I put the lol in their if I think they might take it the wrong way and to let them know, it's all good and fun.

So 32 wins in 3 years, 2 division titles and a playoff win isn't enough, you need see him against a tuffer schedule. Thing's about schedules is they are unpredictable. His 2016 year was suppose to be a tough schedule but he went 13-3 and people then said it was easy because it was a down year for some of those teams because of key injuries or whatever the reason were.

Not putting you into this group, but this team could win the super bowl next year and there would still be people who think Dak isnt the reason and would give him little to no credit

He's one of them Dak haters. No use wasting time talking to those types. They think they know, yet get proven wrong time and time again. I get a good laugh out of them.

You do realize there are better games that would fit your narrative than the rams game. I saw a rams offense that game planned for our D and walked all over them. That was the ultimate team loss . That game wasn't even one of daks 5 worst games of the year.

And you and I know that the draft is a crap shoot at best. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the last year of Amari and Zeke's contracts? You can't just expect to swap out the best RB in the NFL and an elite #1 WR on rookie contracts either.

I agree that teams eventually will have a lot of cap space tied up in their QB. But that should only be the case if you know for sure if he's a franchise QB.Has Dak proven he's a franchise QB or just above average with a lot of help around him?

Let him play out the season and slap the franchise tag on him if he proves he's a franchise QB. Then we can start talking numbers. I don't see the issue with that.

On Amari, most suspect he’ll be extended soon and, from what I understand, that will significantly lower this year’s cap hit. I agree that it’s possible Zeke could be a cap casualty after 2020, but history has shown us it’s not nearly as difficult to replace RB talent as other positions.

Every benchmark the anti-Dak crowd has set on this board has been soundly refuted with stats. After each game that he threw for X yards it was then Y yards. The last Giants game doesn't count because it was another preseason game. If you remove Cooper's YAC then he only threw Z amount of yards. Or that is an outlier therefore it doesn't count. Now there is "the eye test" to determine all. It's ridiculous.
