I actually had them at 11 wins and I'm "Mr. Negative"!
:lmao:

I will say for the record that if we had not gotten Cooper and Looney would not have played as well as he did (not saying he was an all pro by any means) that the record would be closer to what I predicted since we had no #1 WR at the time.

With that said, even with low expectations of the team and how they started out. I did not litter this forum with constant whinging and complaining with the same lame lines in multiple threads like I was on an emo kid from philly.

Honestly. What other successful team does this?

Patriots? Nope
Eagles? Nope
Rams? Nope
Saints? Nope

And by "this" I mean to basically ignore free agency? Where did this grand idea come from?
Other than 2017, how successful have the Eagles been? They had one year things fell in place, otherwise they haven’t done as well as Dallas the last 5 years. In any case, I think fans would be surprised to find other teams do pay their own sizable contracts. Rams are paying boatloads for Gurley and Donald, and I’m sure there are others we are less familiar with

I’m just scared what the contract will be for Dak and Zeke. Yes, Zeke is great but I’m of the mindset not to pay high number at the RB position (possibly only one here that feels this way). Regarding Dak: no way is he worth rumored 27-30, IMO.

Oh well. Nothing we can do.

Dak will get paid too much.
And in order for them to justify Dak getting paid too much and wanting this team to win...they will either have to pay Zeke too much or they will wind up trading picks away to move to the top of some future draft to get a top end RB.

Dak without a running game is not going to work well.

They will not add enough WR/TE top end talent via FA and don't have enough high draft picks to make up a superior passing game that will work for Dak without a strong running game.

I like it. Most of those players are guys I'd feel very optimistic about having on long term deals moving forward.

These aren't "Murray has had 500 injuries, but he wants $45 million" or "Dez wants top 5 money" sort of dilemmas. Coop's a 24 year old route running maestro who will be in his prime for the duration of any deal we sign him to. Byron's 26 with zero injuries in the last four 4 years, and he's one of the smartest guys on the team to boot with zero off field issues. His risk profile is looking great there. Etc etc. These guys won't be cheap, but I like our chances of getting our money's worth.

I will admit that a mega deal for Lawrence and his bad shoulder gives me pause (even if something like 5 years $100 million would be completely fair market value for him), and Dak is about to get brutally overpaid just because he's a quarterback.

Oh absolutely, that trade saved everyone's bacon. Most of all, Garrett's.

OK...

Fred coming back, Full year of Cooper, Williams 2nd year, Gallup 2nd year...I mean I could go on.

Other than Fred, all those other guys were on the field when the Rams kicked our teeth in. So we are just hoping everybody magically improves leaps and bounds above how they played last season?

I could go on, but that doesn't sound like a great strategy to me. I mean, using this logic, maybe Jeff Heath will turn into a stud:rolleyes:

None of the teams listed basically ignore free agency.

Absolutely brilliant...especially since this process has worked wonders. Stupid is as stupid does...

Folks, just a few days ago reports were the Cowboys were thick in the hunt for ET, there was a report connecting the Cowboys to Landon Collins, and there have been multiple rumors about others. And fans comment en masse with each one. Time will tell - no need to get worked into a lather now.
